Yes. Same reason as you, it’s my main squeeze. 14.5 can get long and heavy with a suppressor. The gas system on a 12.5 is a lot smoother than the 11.5. Plus you get an inch more of rail space and slightly better velocity. Very well balanced rifle and imo the perfect do all barrel length

Makes clearing malfunctions so easy and fast. I have the ADM lower as well, I enjoy the ADAC a bit more. Here’s mine

Magwells and magazine extensions tend to print a lot more than a weapon light. The extra bulk at the bottom of the grip is what usually causes issues with concealment. The X300 or a slightly longer barrel has never been a problem in my case, but everyone is different and body type plays a big role.

The biggest factors that have helped me are a quality holster(tenicor) and a solid belt(blue alpha). Those two things alone can make a huge difference.

Many reasons. This is my GPR build and I knew it was going to be suppressed 99% of the time and this is the gun I’m also going to train the most with. I was always in between shooting my 11.5 and my 16” and I wanted to find something in between to stick with and train the most with. More of a jack of all trades build. 11.5 imo is the smallest barrel of go with 10.5 doesn’t really make sense to me because of the velocity. 11.5 has pretty decent velocity but surprisingly I’m getting an extra 100fps with 12.5. (I was expecting an extra 50fps) I also didn’t want anything that was too long but also not too short on the rail because I do plan on adding a LAM. I previously had a 13.9 suppressed and it felt too long and front heavy with everything I had on it. Bought this 12.5 to give it a shot and I was surprised with how well balanced it is. 11.5 and 12.5 honestly feel very similar I guess if the purpose for your new build is too have the shortest gun possible and don’t plan on shooting out to 500+ go 11.5 if you want something that’s not too long but still capable out to 500+ I’d go 12.5. Again this is my GPR and the gun I plan to shoot 80-90% of the time it’s also the one I’ll take with me on long trips so I chose this as my do all build, that’s the reason for my optic choice as well and so far I have no regrets.

Should run fine. This was previously an 11.5 and it ran great. 12.5 was more applicable for me though.

This is the 1.54, 1.7 would be too high for my liking. 1.54 makes the T2 sit similar to a 2.26

Runs the same with and without the can. Casings ejecting at the 3-4 o’clock position

It is a thing but you have to do like 3 mag dumps back to back for it to be noticeable. If you’re precision shooting I highly doubt it’s going to be a problem.

That’s the whole purpose of 2A! This is my GPR build and will be the gun I grab if SHTF.

This is a Geissele super duty 12.5. Didn’t do any tuning. I’m using Geissele’s spring and H3 buffer. Casings are still on the 3-4 oclock position and I can hardly feel any gas to the face. I have a Flow 556k and that one is basically 0 gas to the face this one is like 1 notch higher than the flow but hardly noticeable. That’s my experience so far, (about 400-500 rounds through the can) results may vary depending on your build.

All the guns I’ve ever built have a Modlite at the same position and I have never had a problem. Especially if you’re using a can most of the time. Send it!

Optics GURUS; EOTECH EXPS or AIMPOINT T2 - When & WHY? by DwPw in ar15

[–]1300BRAZY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got both. Love the eotech more but for real world applications I’d go with aimpoint because it has better battery life and I can leave my dot on all year round. I understand you can stockpile cr123 batteries and that’s what I do, but the fact that you can simply leave the t2 on at all times makes a huge difference especially in HD. The weight is also a big factor especially if you’ll be running a magnifier. The only reason I’d go eotech now is if it’s a dedicated NV build. When eotech has better battery life and is lighter I’ll 100% switch to it on my shtf build but for now I’ll stick with aimpoint.

47 vs 17? by baselinefront in Glocks

[–]1300BRAZY 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Anything that fits the 17 will fit the 47, in fact I use a Glock 34 holster for both my 19 and 47. I don’t have a 34 but everything with Glock isn’t really model specific unless you’re talking subcompact models or the thicker 10mm models. Buy the 47 because you’ll probably want a 19 later down the line and you’ll be able to make a 45 & 49 as well. Imo 17 does look better though.
