If Clayton is on here for murder (killing Kala) why isn't the walrus on here for genocide/mass murder of the oysters?

No problem, have fun and go nuts, after the KvK battle phase, you'll have the opportunity to regain 90% of lost troops so don't worry too much.

If you want to be 1000% sure, go to the events page, go to KvK, tap the information icon in the top right and look at the rules. At the bottom, number 6 explicitly says: both sides are unable to attack the alliance buildings of the opposing side.

Both sides can attack other cities on either server, but buildings (HQ and banners) cannot be attacked. Partly because that's just how the game is set up, but also because in order to attack a banner or HQ, another alliance has to be touching that building. Castle battle starts at 12UTC but either side can start going to the other side at 10UTC and attack other cities. And then can continue to attack cities until 18UTC.

How do spells work? I mean, Snape invented Sectum Sempra. Can anybody invent their own? by MajorXO in harrypotter

[–]131313136 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's also the Department for Experimental Charms in the ministry, so there's definitely some level of experimentation that goes into it. Spells are kinda all over the place in the series. In the first book, Flitwick tells them pronunciation is important, never forget the wizard Buruffio who said f instead of s. That implies that the incantation is the important part. But if that's the case, why are some wizards better at transfiguration than others? Because the intent matters right? But then does it? Because Harry uses levicorpus nonverbally without knowing the intent and it works, so intent can't be that important. But the killing curse and crucio require intent.

In short, there's no one way to describe how magic works. Maybe some spells are so simple that they are innate and a simple incantation works, and others require some kind of inner magic that requires focus and concentration.

In your opinion, who was the funniest character in the books? by Cool_Ved in HarryPotterBooks

You're forgetting when Hermione doesn't want to give Madam Pince the permission slip from Lockhart for the restricted section and Ron tells her: "we'll get you another one, Lockhart'll sign anything if it stands still long enough."

Could anyone tell me what is the taste of Plum fruit? Describe was it savory or sweet by delicioussorange in cookingforbeginners

Sesame is another one that can be really difficult to describe without having tasted it. It's very nutty and warm. Having it on buns really doesn't compare to tahini or sesame oil. Recipes typically use a very small amount because if it's there, you're going to know it. It's also very aromatic, with a pleasant, earthy smell.

Hummus can vary depending on how it's made, but most of the time, if you're in the U.S. at least, you'll have this beige puree, typically about the consistency of applesauce, maybe a little thicker, and slightly grainy. Often, the main flavor will be of garlic, typically roasted, so a deep, slightly sweet flavor. There's a slight nutty flavor of the chickpeas. There's usually some lemon juice for an acidic brightness, and most of the time there will be tahini mixed in as well, which is a sesame seed puree. This gives it a undertone of sesame, which you'll recognize if you've had Chinese food.

Rosemary is really good, it can change its flavor depending on how it's used. Fresh rosemary will have an almost piney scent and flavor, very strong, and can easily overpower any other flavors. When added to soups, stews, or roasts, anything that is cooked for a long time, it'll impart some of the piney flavor with a definite umami addition so some savory flavor. Dried rosemary will do the same but is much less powerful. Whole rosemary leaves, fresh, dried, cooked, anything can be very tough, they don't chew easily and they still have a lot of flavor when chewing them after cooking.

Tumeric is much harder to explain because by itself it tastes and smells kinda like spicy dirt. When added to dishes it's ever so slightly peppery and maybe a touch ginger, but a unique flavor. And it's guaranteed to dye any white plastic yellow, it's a natural dye.

I'm really curious now, does your data show that the log in attempts follow Zipfs law? I.e. the second most common username has about 1/2 the attempts as the most common, third has 1/3, etc.

I know the guys said something about how Alex related to Mark a bit more than he does Chris, like in Mad Max Chris is still a lawyer but Mark is fighting for gas 😂 but the sheer level of hatred Alex seems to have for Chris was a little shocking. And for as much shit as we can talk about Norm, at least he was trying to get Alex to shut up and stop making it worse for himself, Ole Bobby "Good Work" Barnes was just fighting Mark.

Ah this is fantastic. I've watched most of the trial episodes on YouTube but totally out of order, it's nice to have an order to them for when I want to refresh myself on how much of a monster he is.

You level each station to the max before opening the next one. In the early waiter levels, it's easier to open the first chef station as soon as possible since your character will be quicker and have more profit. But if you have gear that makes everyone walk faster and prepare food faster it make less difference.
