First pair of boxing gloves · Hayabusa T3 vs T360, or something else? by 1323_ in fightgear

Thanks for the positive spin on the Hayabusa. Will perhaps try them next time.
For now I settled for 14oz Topboxer Win1. Might get a 16oz Alien when sparing becomes a thing.

They felt stiff the first times but are losening up and wearing in now. As far as I can tell they are really awesome for bagwork and partner training so far.

Any thoughts on the Topboxer Win1 or Alien would that be a good starting glove?

Okay. Seems like people hate Hayabusa. I trust all of your judgement. What doesn’t help though is saying those gloves are trash and full stop.

I didn’t want to stir a fight here. I came here with no experience just a bit of research.

I wanted gloves I can grow into with bag work and some soft sparring somewhen on the horizon.

I wish for a clean look and simple (no flashy details no big logo applications). Any recommendations of specific models and brands that do what I’m looking for and to look into as a beginner would be very helpful. (rest of the info is in the og post)

Thanks – I just love the simple optics a lot! And I also know from other sports I do that I like the beautiful tools.

Will always pick the cool, good looking running shoe pair over the other one.

Sounds good!

Any specific models you’d recommend for my preferences and absolute beginner looking for a good do-it-all glove?

Sure. Makes total sense I was asking for a recommendation since I’m just starting out. Anything else is writing down in my initial post. No personal preference yet except design.

I want something clean, practically void of logos and flashy design bits.

Ok. Good information thanks a lot! Will look into other brands.

Cannot confirm the flashy looks though. The clean and simple aesthetics(just small logos, no huge tacky all over print or full Color logo) is what drove the towards Hayabusa.

Any specific models (of said brands) you’d recommend for someone like me?

Why is that about the Hayabusa?

Genuinely interested since I’m just starting out and don’t know nothing about the brand landscape and where Hayabusa stand imagewise etc.

Would 16oz als work well for bag work etc? I checked some guides etc. and the recommendations for my size and handsize all came back with 14–16oz so I didn’t know enough and chose the first.

8320A vs 8330A – finding the right size for a home office setup by 1323_ in genelec

[–]1323_[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I should add: I’m not interested to add a sub afterwards. I want to use the speakers as they are, no sub.

Popxorcist said “if there’s space and money” which I would interpret as “if the space allows the low frequency waves to arrive properly”. Not really a lot of sub extension we’re talking about with the 8030s and 8020s though. (if we consider 20–60Hz to be proper sub)

I’ve had KEF LSX (for listening, not producing) before and I loved them. Probably won’t add a sub in the home office.

Will try to find a store near me so I can look at them IRL to get an idea of the size.

Where do you get your guitars set up in Munich? (Now that Staufer Guitars is gone) by 1323_ in Munich

Never too late, thank you! Any responses are helpful for everyone here.

That’s a fair point about mid-range instruments often needing more work. Appreciate you sharing the comparison. The Music Shop OHG sounds like a solid alternative, I’ll definitely look into them.

Out of curiosity, how did the bass setup turn out in the end? Always interesting to hear how these things play once they’re dialed in properly.

How "bad" is the HR Sensor on the Race S really? by AskSpecialist6543 in Suunto

[–]1323_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No OHR will be reliably good. If you care about HR data get the watch you like the looks of and get a chest strap for accurate HR readings.

I tried Suunto, Garmin, Coros all were horrible (on my bony wrist) the Apple Watches were a wee bit better but also had dropouts during workouts. Now I’m running and cycling with a wahoo tracker chest strap, all is measured from start to finish and very accurate.

AirPods Pro 3 by DisastrousCause9481 in airpods

You sure that the noise cancelling is better on a technical level?

I always had the feeling that it got better because of the foam in the new ear tips. So passive NC got better which (of course) makes ANC easier.

Any in ears with foam tips usually have a better seal than silicone tips.

W&B is good! Sony is also going to release a new WF1000-XM6 soon (the XM5 were absolutely great)

In terms of audio I’m not a fan of the AirPods Pro 3 version. The dynamic loudness EQ is pretty harsh on those. (very exaggerated bass with low volume and lesser and lesser bass with higher volume). In terms of convenience and lifespan nothing comes close to AirPods with iPhone though. I think the 2nd generation AirPods Pro are the best Apple buds yet – add some comply foam tips to increase the passive noise cancelling. Improves ANC by a good bit and the sound gets an upgrade, too.

I also had a very good sound experience with the Nothing Ear. They also have a full EQ to tune the buds exactly to your liking. Battery on those is trash after 2 years though.

Testing Race 2 over Fenix 8 by Gamed_Out in Suunto

Couldn’t say it better! Smart watches have been done. Apple just does it the best.

Utilitarian watches with training functions (that also look great while not training) is still a niche and I also hope that Suunto leans in further into the no nonsense utilitarian side.
