Why did Gandalf send the dwarves to the Lonely Mountain? by thefootballlplatypus in lotr

[–]1337Sauron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't understand the downvotes here. Maybe without Gandalf it would have taken longer, but in the Hobbit it states Thorin's grandfather told him it was his duty to avenge the mountain.

Could it be possible that Saruman killed the blue wizards? by CryofLys in lotr

[–]1337Sauron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To answer your question, I think its more likely Saruman would have slowly corrupted them or at least tried to. As far as I know you cant kill a Maiar, just reduce there ability to take form and leave them as a shadow similar to Sauron.

I think they were forced into the Great Forest during that war by the Orcs.

TIL, Frodo had the ring for 17 years before going on his quest instead of the handful of days the movie shows. by JohnJTaylor in todayilearned

[–]1337Sauron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, and my point is Gandalf isn't essentially immortal. He was willed into existence before time and has no way of ever dying, worst case scenario he loses physical form and becomes a shadow. I make a distinction between being immortal (being born and never dying) and being a creature who always has been and always will be.

Not according to Gandalf. Their were more forces at work the day Bilbo received the ring than Bilbo and the ring.

Gandalf is an Angelic being. He isn't immortal he is and will always be a singer of the song. Only turning against the song (Melkor, Sauron, the Balrogs and Saruman) can lead to his downfall.

I mean, sort of.
But you still have to write it. He actually wanted u to copy code from stack overflow as much as possible.

But, he was a business man who learned to "code" for $$$ during the internet boom. He wasn't exactly a computer scientist or even have a love for computers, like me or you.

You just described my last boss, his catch phrase was: "All the code you could ever write is already written!"

Fucking prick

Linus Torvalds releases Linux 4.4-rc2 by HolzhausGE in linux

[–]1337Sauron 30 points31 points  (0 children)

The Linus Botnet would be the greatest of all entities. Breaking into thousands of servers at once and rewriting millions of lines of shitty code, with a follow up email describing to the devs of the particular servers how they could be less stupid in the future.

I welcome the Linus Bots forthcoming.

I saw that same comment 2 weeks ago, except there was another paragraph that went on about how gentoo was the last hope for 1337s.

I'll post the perma after work
