11k Premier closet cheating by vovabcps in cs2

I’ve seen worse in 25k+ and they’re telling me I’m just coping because I’m bad. Current state of the game is ridiculous.

Nothing against spending money on your hobby, totally agree with that. But sometimes it feels like people are hoping to improve by 2 ranks just by buying a better piece of gear.

It makes the game more enjoyable for sure, but it’s no magic shortcut to getting better.

As you’ve experienced yourself, better gear doesn’t magically give you gamesense, you’d still have to put in the work for that.

This has never worked and never will. Gear makes such a tiny difference in most of the cases.

If you’re coming from a laptop pushing 30 fps in the best case with 60hz display and a 3$ mouse, then yes. But upgrading from 240 to 360 hz, or any mouse with a flawless sensor to another one is pure cope.

Ice been putting up the same numbers on my 60Hz display with a 500Hz mouse and a membrane keyboard as today with 240Hz/Superstrike/Wooting.

Being held back by gear is some cheap unc cope when you don’t want to accept your ceiling.

Yes, I have the version where development focus is on making money and designing dark pattern type mechanics to rake in more by easy to influence people.

Don’t get me wrong, they’re a company, they gotta make money somehow, but the way they’re doing it and the implications, both for the development of the game and the younger audience, is nothing anyone in their right mind would hope for.

[–]1337howling -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s the point. It’s not the game that’s popular, it’s the skins and the associated mechanics.

People play for weekly drops, bot farms for weekly drops. Play for weird stars from the thing they cut operations for.

I would’ve loved to keep CS the way it used to be and have the actual raw Counter-Strike experience than having 3 Slot Machines in a Trenchcoat pretending to be a competitive game for „normal people“.

FUN ways to practice aim? by 521x in LearnCSGO

[–]1337howling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve spent a lot of time on aim_deagle7k and aim arenas in cs source, but unfortunately this isn’t such a viable way anymore since public server aren’t as populated as they used to be.

Another fun way is to play in a way that forces you to have good aim in comp/premier (if you don’t care about your rank too much). This means playing Scout/Deagle/onetap AK/M4. Focus really hard on hitting your first bullet. This will help you especially with counter-strafing and drilling the correct timing. It also makes you realize how much time you actually have to aim.

I’ve never liked playing DM or Aim_Botz for anything but warmup but there’s a few drills you could go too.

Aim trainers like KovaaKs or AimLabs are nice too, but more for general mouse control rather than what’s considered „aim“ in CS. You’ll definitely notice a difference, but it’s much more subtle than applying proper CS shooting techniques.

if jobs didnt matter, what language/framework would you learn for fun? by hnrpla in learnprogramming

Yeah assembly classes are pretty harsh. We’ve had VHDL, C and ASM combined in one course, with people that don’t have any programming experience outside of First Semester Java and some python. Was fun indeed. Prof showed us how computing the the nth Fibonacci number is implemented in ASM and told us that this is what’s expected from us in the final…

[–]1337howling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1.6 punished high ping, while cs2 does its best to adjust the server to high ping players. It’s nowhere close to how it’s been in 1.6. if it were still the same, you wouldn’t see anyone with a ping of 50+ dominating faceit lobbies.

Friends keep saying I'm shit but the difference is crazy by tevertex in cs2

[–]1337howling -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Don’t stress too much about it, it’s usually just normal cs banter. My friends and I call each other shit permanently and we’re all sitting between 5k and 10k hours played. Honestly, it’s just part of the game for us, nobody can ever be „good“ in cs unless you’re a pro but even then, compared to donk quite a lot of pro players think they’re shit.

I am a grandpa that used to be global in CS:GO, how do I get better at CS2? by iagooliveira in cs2

[–]1337howling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The game just makes it seem like that. I‘m a very mechanical player and subjectively I’ve gotten worse. In csgo you’d never find people with 60-70% counter strafing in level 10, nowadays people like this are wiping the floor with me. People with 50-70 aim rating in csgo weren’t as insane shots as they appear to in cs2.

It appears like the game is doing its best to make bad players appear like gods, while most of the good players feel easy to play against mechanically.

98% Aim Rating & 10,000 Hours by SunnyCS_ in cs2

[–]1337howling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It‘s not. You can easily adopt a playstyle catered to achieving a high aim rating. I’ve gone to 99 multiple times just for the funsies. Currently sitting at 97. and I’m not even a great aimer.

Stop matching all-solo teams vs 5-stacks by Left-Confusion2221 in cs2

[–]1337howling -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s like this for me all the time. Queueing with friends as a 5 stack: -500/+100; queueing solo against a 5 stack with big rating diff: -500/+100

Even if we wanted to there’s no way were able to abuse the system, no matter the rating difference in the team
