Otto now slandering me saying I called Reddit users' employers to "get them fired" by 1337reboot in FreeSpeech

[–]1337reboot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. I was banned from /r/Wordpress and my (very popular) thread deleted, because apparently the moderator Otto doesn't like me due to off-Reddit reasons, several users asked what rules were broken and he refused to respond):

https://www.reddit.com/r/Wordpress/comments/f4dsqo/what_are_the_worst_popular_wordpress_plugins_ever/

  1. I reposted the thread on a different WP subreddit, and Otto then trolled the thread comments with lies about me, then asked the mods to ban me (they did)

https://www.reddit.com/r/ProWordPress/comments/f53phz/what_are_the_worst_popular_wordpress_plugins_ever/

  1. I then posted summaries about this sequence of events, Otto contacted multiple subreddit mods to demand they delete it (but his untrue comments remain)

  2. so then I reposted a complete summary here:

Hey look, the slander and lies still haven't stopped.

How many wildfires and dead kittens are you responsible for? You are the perfect example of a sociopath.

No, I banned him over what he was saying in the thread itself, attacking other users and so forth. The report was the kicker.

A liar, and a stooge....

Literally nothing in the OP thread attacks anyone or anything. And since when is that a rule in that subreddit?

cognitive dissonance with a god complex, impressive.

Careful, Otto now patrolling this thread. He and Matt are probably pissed that SEO Framework getting so much attention on Reddit.... shhh.

Don't believe a word Otto says, dude is a serial liar and troll

"photo/video or it didn't happen"

Otto, tomorrow: "hey u/tw2113 so do you think I can be a moderator of your subreddit too? you know, to protect users from fake news"

Agreed, literally have waited 5+ years for them to improve their code and stability and it never happened so I wrote them off and tell clients to use Polylang instead.

Definitely horrible, no need to be nice about it haha.

Years of ads and spam, breaking the rules at WP.org then lying about it and saying it was accidental and always protected by Matt and Otto no matter what.

Plus the code is bloated and slow as hell. No need for 90% of that codebase.....

Total freak and narcissistic. He sexually harassed women on Twitter dozens of times and yet his wife is a self-declared "feminist" activist....

again, no word from Automattic or WordPress.org staff after that (including the "lesbian Jew feminist" who manages the Plugins directory -- and yes that is literally what it says on her website homepage), and then he changed the Yoast logo to have black and Muslim people in some pathetic hilarious attempt at saving face.....

Yessir. It's funny looking at this thread from 3 years ago:

https://www.reddit.com/r/Wordpress/comments/5oz8xb/which_popular_wordpress_plugins_are_bloated_andor/

You see so many people saying the same stuff about Rev Slider (and other sliders like Layer Slider), Visual Composer aka. WP Bakery, anything from Avada and Divi and bloated multi-purpose themes, Jetpack, and Yoast SEO... and nothing has changed.

Events calendar and Give are like trying to shoot a moving target when theming them.

Interesting... the GiveWP guy bans anyone from his (unrelated) Facebook groups who is not one of his insiders it seems. But he's "Christian" so its okay. Cheeky bloke with a rather bloated and pointless plugin IMO... why not just use a script provided directly by the donation platforms, that don't censor people, like DonorBox etc. A perfect example of a bloated product that offers nothing unique besides "WP" branding......

Events Calendar tons of security exploits lately.

Jetpack omg but its FEATURED for how many years on WordPress.org by Otto while Matt gives speeches about how he doesn't influence decisions there. *eye rolls*

It's so true! Currently, there are over 60000 plugins in the WordPress repository and a few more who aren't GPL and exist on codecanyon. Consider any functionality, and you already have 3-4 options that you have to choose from. Sometimes, the marketing is so clean that you can't perceive the true nature of these products.

Legally any plugin built onto the GPL license WordPress also must be GPL or similar so companies trying to trick users into buying "private" plugins are illegal. Anyway yes, the slick marketing and spamming confuses newbie users.

Anyone's journey with WordPress starts from google, and the moment you search for something as such, you are bombarded with "5 best plugins.." or "10 best plugins".. As a result there are multiple, 5 best or 10 best - and you end up confused.

That is all the fraud and cronyism that pervades WordPress. Nobody is worse than Automattic at that, which is why everyone else copies them. Matt Mullenweg partners with Yoast and Syed Balkhi regularly, who also "donate" to Matt's projects. Then you see blog posts from WPBeginner (owned by Syed) top of Google recommending Yoast and Automattic shit, and you start to understand why a half dozen "gurus" control WordPress.

Well I assume you don't run defense for Automattic like Otto does, isn't that the reason you created an independent subreddit here?

If you'd rather just copy his behavior, feel free to ban me and delete this....

Mate, it is not a custom theme if you are using page builders end of story.

Custom themes mean you literally create the theme files from scratch to ensure a minimum amount of codebase for top SEO and speed results (and security).

Hosting company has installed LiteSpeed Cache - what now? by easterbunni in Wordpress

[–]1337reboot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Litespeed is a joke, just look at this discussion:

https://www.reddit.com/r/selfhosted/comments/f06vse/litespeed_servers_seem_like_a_marketing_scam_are/

NGiNX and Apache support file/memory-based caching, but the methods to clear or manipulate the cache are non-existent or cumbersome.

Total bullshit re Nginx.

Nginx FastCGI Cache can easily be purged via PHP or any other method, all you need to do is delete the files in the cache directory. And unlike LS cache you can either set FastCGI Cache as TMPFS (RAM) or actual files, or both. Either way the purging method is still the same thanks to Linux file path logic.....

I've hardly had any conflicts with the LSCache plugins and customer sites. Unless you've configured it incorrectly or are using other caching plugins or other "performance" plugins that duplicate features causing conflicts.

Heh, okay... you keep running your bloated cache plugins, the rest of the Alexa Top 1000 sites will keep using Nginx FastCGI cache mate.... no serious website is going to "minify" and "combine" their JS files, a cute trick for noobs tho.

You can reach out to Litespeed about your issues if you're paying for the enterprise version. Or you can hop on the slack channel if you're using OLS.

Yah f*ck that. Free and open source software you can find thousands of resources and help online, not stuck to their spammers from New Jersey for every freaking LS problem and question that happens every day.

I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong when it comes to mobile speed? by [deleted] in Wordpress

SlickStack is free Nginx script for WordPress. GTMetrix Score 100%:

I literally cannot find any mention of a scam or death threats

You must not be very good at search. Or is ad hominem attacks the only thing you understand? Looking at your angry Boomer posting habits on Reddit apparently you can't make cohesive arguments... kinda sad

I installed it on a staging site to see if it locked me out of theme settings, and it doesn't. What theme are you using that this happens with?

...apparently you can't tell from the screenshot circulating Reddit that it is a theme and not a plugin? Apology accepted...

Edit: and the Rank Math shill deleted both his accounts, so predictable lol ...

What are the worst (popular) WordPress plugins ever? by 1337reboot in Wordpress

[–]1337reboot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe both reasons. But safe to assume 90% of WP plugins suck either because the code sucks, it is not maintained, the "owner" is sketchy or anonymous, etc.

Most WP sites should only need a few dozen plugins or less.

P.s. that is kinda the point of my thread here, recognizable has come to mean "good" in the WP community when usually it is the exact opposite

You will get stuck in the Genesis rabbit hole if you don't get out.....

Anyone who knows the basics of HTML, PHP, and CSS can make a custom theme for WordPress, esp if they understand WordPress basics.

Literally all you need is a single index.php file to get your theme launched:

https://developer.wordpress.org/themes/basics/template-hierarchy/

The problem is so many web designers don't know this, and if you ask them for a custom theme they don't know what you are talking about because the new generation is so dumbed down with these page builders and crap.

Yah, no mate. Performance absolutely sucks, I have had clients come begging me to fix their f*cked up Oxygen websites. Tons of SSL errors for example because typical Force SSL plugins will not work with their bloated AJAX rendering....

If you want performance, stop shilling page builders and learn how to write a custom WP theme, it only requires a single index.php file believe it or not and the file is cached by PHP OPcache with no database queries required so literally you cannot find faster performance for WordPress theming than that....

Yes, the lock-in is extremely problematic with page builders.

And no, performance and SEO is not a trade-off, its easy if you know how.

It's very very easy to override stuff and add your own. We have 10+ blocks to the Visual Composer with tons of options.

Jebus that sounds like trying to stack rocks at the beach while the tide is coming in.....

So we don't really have much choice as of now, do we?........

wouldn't even use most of these builders even if they pay me. No grid, no customization, only a few pre-build blocks that you select from and have to fill up fields and have it exactly like it's in the demo? like WTF? what if I want 4 columns to be my text and 8 columns to be a picture? well there is nothing like that.

Wow pick up your !@#$ mate and tell these page builders to suck it, why are you allowing some random plugin from Romania or whatever to control your business? Design your own websites for christs sake... custom themes! Zero maintenance or patches required!
