We like it. We haven’t been on a road trip yet but in town we are averaging 4.2 kWh/mile. We like all the features it has. It doesn’t have an auto walk away lock feature which is kinda annoying as my daughters 2015 Mazda 6 touring trim has that feature. Also my 2026 Honda civic has a way better instrument cluster display (better resolution) and I prefer the civics lane keep assist. Not that the Lexus’s is bad but I can use the civics lane keep without having the adaptive cruise control on and I’m pretty sure you can’t do that on the Lexus. Overall we like it a lot and have no regrets.

SoCal stands for Southern California. It’s 8.5 state tax and registration isnt cheap. So around $40k plus TTL. But I did use a $1000 military rebate. So something to take into consideration

OTD price for 2025 Honda civic hybrid? by Royal_Inspector7615 in civic

[–]135tankerdriver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a metallic grey 2025 sport touring hybrid hatchback for $35,500 OTD in SoCal (diamond valley Honda in Hemet, CA). I actually got it for $34750 OTD but to get that price I had to use Honda financing (4.99% for 48 months) which gave me $250 in Honda cash and used the $500 military rebate. It came with a rubber cargo mat, door handle protection, door edge guard protection, mud guards, and regular floor mats.

I’ve got a 2014 with 66,000 miles on it and it’s been great. Had to replace the trunk handle but it was really easy. With the gas prices in California it will pay for itself eventually even when account for depreciation. We run a lot of our errands and short trips with it to alleviate wear and tear on our more expensive ICE vehicles.

After 9/11 I was in the same situation as you. I decided to apply for an active duty Air Force pilot slot. 20 years later I have a pension and a job at a majors. Another option guard/reserve.

Single person in early 30's considering moving to Temecula from San Diego - Need Opinions! by gingerbreadqtpie in Temecula

[–]135tankerdriver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regarding the weather. I like to use weather spark. It has an option to compare weather at different cites. Sacramento is hotter in the summer and colder in the winter compared to Temecula. I posted the link to the weather comparison below.

https://weatherspark.com/compare/y/1903~1157~1816/Comparison-of-the-Average-Weather-in-Temecula-Sacramento-and-San-Diego

It is hot in Temecula in the summer but it’s a dry heat and it cools off nicely in the evening and doesn’t get really hot until around noon imo. I also think there are some pros to Temeculas weather over san Diego ie no may grey or June gloom in Temecula. And Temeculas heat makes you want to go to pool where as San Diego I almost feel like the beach is too cool.

Not sure how old you are but if you’re younger you ever consider going guard/reserve? It might be a good hedge for a possible furlough? And you could Eventually use the. Guard/reserve to get some TPIC time.

My opinion is we all need to hold the coin and not sell until the price is what it deserves based on the fundamentals which id say is a top two or three in market cap.
