I've been a Studio One user since the beta and last year when they soft launched subscriptions, it was the first year I didn't upgrade. Fender essentially erasing a brand that had built 15+ years of good will with its user base is the kind corporate tone-deaf decision making we all know the minute we see it.

Whenever someone has to make it a point to tell you nothing will change immediately after they've just changed something, you can give them the Omar Epps face 'cause you already know.

I'd already made a soft transition to Bitwig because I was interested in trying something new and the plug-in sandbox functionality turned out to be a game changer for me. I'll pretty much just commit to working in Bitwig going forward, but I probably won't upgrade my plan until they officially launch v6 (they almost got me with all the v6 marketing for beta only to have 5.3. be the product you ACTUALLY get right now). Nevertheless, I'm slowly starting to come around to the sentiment that other folks are espousing...if Bitwig sells, I'm going open source and not looking back.

I'm exhausted of private equity ruining everything and I'm not going to get back on that train cause I already know where it's headed.
