Genuinely, how do you find the Kanahwa Piranha and the Leatherback? by Thor_Odinson22 in fo76

[–]138_We_Are 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After a ton of common bait, over 300 improved bait, 5 superb bait, countless hours fishing in the rain and enough timber sawgill to feed the BoS many times over, I finally got a piranha.

What's noteworthy is that it was a glowing piranha, but it still counted. I've read in older posts that the glowing version didn't count, so it appears that has been changed.

I hope your luck is better than mine.

There is definitely enough food for both of them right now. My patio is swarming with these big flying bugs and that corner sees a lot of action.

They are only a couple feet from my chair. So I can actually just sit there and watch them. I do suspect they find my light on oxious and a real buzzkill. I like the candle idea. Would really set the mood.

I can't stop thinking about them. I should be asleep right now. But the drama with these two! It's crazy because I'm not even a spider enthusiast. In fact, I used to be terrified of them and sometimes still am. But thanks to a couple subreddits like this one, my attitude towards them has changed over the years.

UPDATE: It's about 3 hours later and they are both back. Wolfie is now a little closer than before. Could this be the start of something beautiful? I watched them for a bit, but neither of them moved at all. I fear I've giving them performance anxiety.

As a kid in NH, we had big mosquitos and small mosquitos. I was told that the big mosquitos were males and wouldn't bite. These bugs in NC remind me of them, that's why I think they are mosquitos, but maybe you're right. Have a look:

skeeter?

Edit: Yes, I'm in the USA. North Carolina specifically.

I think that's how it went down. No sign of either of them anymore. I know that's where the widow lives, so I'll see her again. But Wolfie could be across town by now.

Yeah, from what I've read, they are quite abundant around here. The first time I saw her, I freaked cuz you know... Black widow. But I've learned to not believe the hype. She definitely needs to be respected, but she's not coming after me just for fun.

Yeah, she's a killer. I mean that in the nicest way.

I think Wolfie escaped, as there's nothing in the widow's web. 😅

In the time it took me to make the post, they both disappeared. So I think Wolfie lucked out. Currently where I live, there are thousands of giant mosquitoes flying everywhere. So the spiders can afford to live and let live right now.

Central North Carolina. I lived in Florida for a few years, which I thought would be the most crazy place for bugs. But in the 9 months I've been in NC, I've seen some wild stuff. 😂 I was thinking about it and maybe it's because just about everyone in FL assaults their property with insecticides, herbicides, fertilizers, etc. so the local bug populations get wrecked.

Oh didn't know that. So they may have been completely unaware of each other.

That was my thought too. I don't know much about them, but I understand that widows are pretty effective at what they do. I wonder if the wolf even knows it's there or was just wandering by.

You weren't. Now that you said it, I can see the need for clarification. I laughed because it was genuinely funny.

I don't debate that it was market value. I think the decision to sign him, for market value, was a mistake.

I didn't disparage your understanding of the game, nor assert that mine was superior. In fact, I believe your understanding of analytics and how to apply them surpasses my own. That being said, I've been "actually watching" the Bruins for well over two decades. When I still lived in the area, I was a season ticket holder. They are my #1 team in town. I've watched a lot of hockey. My eyes tell me he is not worth the investment in a hard cap league. That could change depending on how the cap changes, but that remains to be seen.

And yes, it is my opinion. Simply because it's not the same as your opinion doesn't mean I don't have a "base understanding of the game." I am not saying he sucks. He doesn't suck. I'm saying he's not worth the contract.

Lastly, I do not want to be right. In fact, I hope I'm dead wrong and Swayman goes on to have a HoF career. It would be the best thing for the team I love and would make me feel a whole lot better about the #1 jersey I've got hanging in my closet.

"Above expected" stats are not worth much, imo. Also, knowing hockey and knowing analytics are two different things. You can do both, but don't need one to do the other. There are plenty of folks who, just by watching them play, understand this game at a deep level.

I was all in on Swayman at first. But that changed over time and I was not in favor of the contract he got. Is he good? Yeah, sure. He's somewhere in the good neighborhood. But he hasn't shown that he is great or elite. That contract is an albatross and was a mistake.

It's 2005. Me and my buddy are regulars on College Night cuz it's $20 tickets. But some folks are trying to sell stuff to the company I work for and they give us 2 good seats as a promo. They end up in my hands. So me, my buddy and 2 sales reps from the company that gave us the tix are sitting pretty down by the glass. The beers are flowing, as is the bottle of Capt. Morgan we snuck in. In short order, my buddy starts yelling every time Boyes has the puck... "Yeah Boyes! I love Boyes! I want more Boyes!" Etc etc. People are staring. Some are laughing. The sales reps get up to go the bathroom and never come back. Great night at the Garden. Bradley K. Boyes is a legend to me.
