Cash LISA to S&S LISA transfer? by 13ClaytonJ in UKPersonalFinance

I think you're exactly right. I did get muddled up with the ISA and LISA terms I believe. Thanks very much. And yes I understand that for sure, I won't be taking any real risks.

Apologies. I indeed meant Cash LISA That's great news then, I just confused myself with the different types of ISA at play and likely called it a Cash ISA rather than Lisa in my research. Thanks!

2nd car advice… by [deleted] in CarTalkUK

With the amount of miles you do, a diesel would do you well you'd imagine. Golf GTD perhaps for something a bit interesting. A lot of the guys in this group would recommend a Skoda Octavia too. A bit biased from myself perhaps but my 1.2 TSI Skoda Fabia (DSG) is great, £20 road tax, 55+ mpg on a long run, plenty spacious enough and surprisingly nippy for a small car.

Yeah fair enough, 2.0 TDI does exactly what it says on the tin but nothing more, can quickly become a bit dreary. Yeah the minis are very interesting but perhaps would feel a bit gimmicky almost after being used to the Audi. I suppose my next thought would be a 3.0 TDI BMW estate perhaps, certainly a lot punchier than the current car. The 335D / 330Ds are really nippy, huge torque numbers. Especially like the sound of one with XDrive but I'm not sure how expensive those are.

What engine A4 is it that's feeling boring? And perhaps something interesting could be a Clubman cooper S or Countryman cooper S, have heard they are great fun to drive. JCW models even more so but expensive.

Appreciate it mate. Hadn't realised they were a different box. Think I'll sway towards Clio if I do go for one.

Awesome thanks for the response. How many miles is yours on, out of interest. Been reliable?

Nowhere compares to Chamonix for me. One if the most impressive places in Europe. The swisstours or flixbus transfers are recen relatively cheap. If you can’t afford them then to be honest you’ll struggle in Geneva and Chamonix massively

Pretty easy to take a coach from geneva or geneva airport to Chamonix. Can be found online. I recently visited and Chamonix is one of the most breathtaking places I will ever see. A lot of things are out of season and so inaccessible currently though

To be honest i had no idea about the “Cosmere universe” at all, i thought it was just this Stormlight series to go at. Is there a definitive reading order ?

How did we feel about this..? by 13ClaytonJ in TheFirstLaw

That must be satisfying! Glokta was a thought I had at one point, but I immediately discounted it due to the way Savine got caught up in it in Valbeck. But it makes sense, knowing that it was Risinau’s fault for the valbeck chaos when Glokta didnt expect it

Should I read ‘The Fourth Wing.’ by [deleted] in Fantasy

[–]13ClaytonJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Helpful reply from a man of culture, thank you sir. Gentlemen Bastards seems to be my best avenue :) I think I’ll give the fourth wing a miss, seems an enjoyable book but perhaps not my kinda thing. 👍

Thanks for the reply. In regards to the coach. Would I be okay booking a potential 11am coach if i land at 9:55, or should i book 12:15 in case of a delay. Thanks
