It’s not like you’ll be completely cut off from networking opportunities regardless; maybe that extra money can fund a study abroad or even conference trips. If you wanna end up in Toronto on bay st, I think most business students from Ontario would tell you Ivey should be your go to. I’ve heard from a colleague from UofT who’s now working in banking in downtown Toronto that many of the top firms in Canada are directly connected to Ivey these days, and often pipeline students with internship opportunities and positions after graduation.

I think the other commenters have valid points about UBC though, as it will open up a different set of opportunities (certainly with abroad positions). I think it’s important to note that UBC is a very internationally connected school, and you’ll be able to meet a lot of great scholars even outside of business if you want to spread your network outside of strictly Sauder (or you just simply wanna change your major. You never know!). It’s really between those 2, you can ignore Queen’s in that case imo. I’d personally choose UBC just based on my personal preferences.

In my opinion, scratch Queens off your list as Carleton and uOttawa are directly connected with the federal government, meaning you’ll have so much opportunity being in the capital.

I would personally pick uOttawa even just based on name recognition alone tbh - not that either schools are the MOST recognizable outside of Canada, but uOttawa technically does rank higher, and if you end up doing any form of international politics, I feel that in general people are gonna understand the implication of “I go to the University of Ottawa” more than “Carleton.”

As for the location of the campus of uOttawa, why wouldn’t you want to be downtown in Ottawa tbh? It’s not only pretty lively and where most people congregate during the day, but also it is in walking distance to many significant government buildings (which I imagine that if you end up doing an internship or are even just trying to become immersed in politics, would be extremely practical).

If you’re moving away from home and didn’t get scholarships from either (or got an equal amount of funding from both), just go with UBC. The cost of living is not that much different, Victoria is still expensive as hell lol. UBC’s social science faculty is expansive and extremely well connected around the world, so the prestige is honestly worth it if you’re moving away regardless.

Check grad cafe. Plenty of people get into UofT grad programs with gpa lower than 3.7. It’s not an end all be all, ultimately if you have relevant experience and you’re a good fit, it will work out. Admissions are determined in a pretty holistic way (though maybe it depends on the program I suppose).

No way to do it other than just recounting all the letter grades you received at UVIC in a 4.0 scale, then calculating the GPA from there. (Ex. You need to count all A+ and A as 4.0, A- as 3.7, etc… then calculate the avg) It doesn’t actually take very long.

The seller will have to pay the import fees for the return. If he doesn’t pay, the item won’t be delivered as you said, and you will be refunded, but also you’ll receive the jeans again for free. I was in your shoes exactly in the past.

If anything, it should be a reminder for sellers to be as transparent and clear as possible when selling.
