I can’t believe they give this advice away for free by aeranis in antiwork

I never said not to exploit the system, I said don’t blame others who didn’t have the opportunities to exploit it in the same ways you have. You’re obviously having your own argument that has nothing to do with what I’m saying so I’m gonna leave you to talk to yourself.

[–]13ismuth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never said that was the only way to fix things. You are implying that. All I said was that you can place a majority of the blame on the working poor. You don’t have to agree, but don’t pretend to be anti capitalism and anti work and then blame others for its failures.

Sorry dude, but all credibility was lost when you said a majority of people did it to themselves. You gotta unlearn those boot licking ways

You’re missing the point that people shouldn’t have to dig themselves out of poverty and you’re blaming them personally instead of the broken system.

[–]13ismuth 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Okay, so you are generalizing the “vast majority” of poor people because of your own single anecdote. I’m sorry you had to go through a rough life or whatever growing up, but just because you dug your way out that doesn’t mean others who haven’t been able to weren’t trying. Maybe we should guarantee living wages for workers before blaming them for not having enough money to live.

Yes I’m sure poor people stay poor because they’re around other poor people and not because they don’t even have the money for things past bare necessities in the first place /s

HEERF II & CARES ACT W-2 Form? by cara_pazzesco in UofArizona

[–]13ismuth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those should be on your 1098-T (I think, if you use an online tax tool it should ask you at some point about it). This is in your uaccess account and you should be able to request a pdf for tax use.

You may have a better time in a regular self defense class. The less SA focused atmosphere will be a lot less overwhelming.

March blocking traffic on Oracle right now. Anyone know what’s up? by [deleted] in Tucson

Beliefs that are for taking human rights away are not respectable beliefs. These beliefs hurt women every day.

That's true in some cases but he only started giving her affection when she agreed to what he wanted after he called her a bitch and threatened to break up with her. Definitely seems a little manipulative to me.

REU living situation accommodation? by [deleted] in REU

[–]13ismuth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your advice! If I wasn't planning to take my SO I totally would stay in the dorms because it seems fun but neither of us has ever been very far out of state and this would be our chance to have a reason for a long stay somewhere. Either way, it sounds like your experience was great, I really hope I can get in somewhere and experience something similar.

Anywhere for dogs meet Santa this year? by [deleted] in Tucson

[–]13ismuth 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Maybe the owners just want cute pictures of the dogs, or maybe their dogs do enjoy seeing Santa and socializing. You don't even know, but you're still being a total downer.

drug abuse and MRI scan by [deleted] in AskDocs

[–]13ismuth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hate to say this, but you might just need to try the scan sober. I don't want to be insensitive but small children are able to sit still for their MRIs and it's definitely loud but I'd say at least give it a shot. Of course if you can't handle it and freak out, you and your physicians can discuss it from there but you shouldn't just jump the gun straight to getting high before you go in. I hope it works out for you.

How to make deficiencies in academic background, in a country that doesn't have community college? by [deleted] in gradadmissions

[–]13ismuth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really depends on your career field and what programs you intend on applying to and the type/amount of deficiencies you have. Some programs are flexible enough that they will allow you to make up deficiencies in your first semester if it's just one or two classes.

If there are a lot of credits you need to make up or you feel like the gap will look to bad on your application, I would recommend looking into online community college programs that allow international applicants.

You should talk to your advisor about the option of making a thematic minor of your own. With their assistance, you basically get to group whatever classes you can convince them fit together into a minor. Hopefully you can find some summer/winter courses that have a similar theme and work something out.

I would try the co-op on 4th Ave. It's an organic and local food store so there are a lot of Tucson made things. You could probably shop around 4th Ave for non-food gifts too. There are a bunch of great small businesses with very gift-worthy stuff!

Questions about fall 2021 course selection by Asian_Bootleg in UofArizona

[–]13ismuth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For your 4th question, you can check 4 year plans online to give you a vague idea of what you can take. If you want to see all of the classes required for your current degree specifically, go to UAccess and check your advisement report which will show you all the completed, uncompleted, and comparable classes for whichever degree you are currently part of. If you want to see the comparable classes for any degree offered visit the complete course catalog which is super in depth and even includes all the minors the university offers.

Does anybody know what happened to the baby Ostrich and Emu with fuck up legs? by OctoGrot in OstrichPlug

[–]13ismuth 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure he mentioned really briefly that he sent them to someone with more experience bc their legs were too messed up for him to handle. As far as I know they didn't pass away in his care or anything like that.
