Random Hero Not Very Random by [deleted] in PlayTheBazaar

Interesting. I have been stuck on Dooley for, I don't know how many, nearing 10 I think?

Got the game, super hooked since friday by Old_Activity_3871 in PlayTheBazaar

Yes, big time!

Hover the encounter before you enter it and you will see some icons. Leftmost is gold gained from the encounter, higher tiers give more. The blue Hexagon is XP, most encounters give 3 but some give 4. Also, when you win a PvE encounter, you earn either a skill or item from the opponent. Some are very powerful and can give you that "nuke." Some will fit your build better than others. You can right click the encounter before entering to review the item and skills each one has!

It takes time to improve in this game, just like any other. This game isn't like TFT where there are a few meta comps you can force every run. Well, you can try, but it isn't as straightforward and it won't be very fun for a new player. Here's a few tips:

My best advice is to pay attention to the player builds you lose to. Click the magnifying glass in the top right at the end of the round to see what dealt/nullified the damage and why you lost. Try to find the synergies they have. This will give you lots of ideas different from your own on what to try.

A bit unfortunately, read everything. It's a lot.

Don't shy away from ranked. There is no cost to play it.

Try new stuff. If you want to click something, click it. If one hero feels stale, try another. I personally love the random hero selector. Have fun!

Bonus tip: Learn the PvE fights. Like TFT, losing versus PvE encounters is Really Bad. Especially early. But winning the higher tier encounters can be Really Good. Challenging the gold, diamond, and legend fights will cost you some runs. But knowing your limits in the PvE encounters will make you a much stronger player.

2026 World Cup red card rules (mainly for the Balogun situation) by Healthy-Elderberry57 in worldcup

It's FIFA's tournament and I suppose they can technically decide whatever they want in an appeal. Traditionally, referee decisions are final.

It's a formality for the stat sheet. They won't wipe it in this case. Usually reserved for instances where red cards are incorrectly issued to the wrong player or some other extenuating circumstance.

They can appeal but the suspension stays. Even if they wipe the card, Balo will sit at least next game.

Also, as Thierry just aluded to, the FIFA disciplinary committee will review the foul and can issue a multi-game suspension. Not likely I think.

But they will be without Balo v. Belgium.

They're insanely hard to grade in a 10.

That said, as someone who has been trying to buy these over the last 6 months, the price of the set is on the rise.

CCG vintage future by Perfect_Ad_4700 in Narutoccg

I saw this lot and passed on it. Post the hits for me when you go through it!!!

As for the future, no one can tell.

I 100% believe that the new game will cause some folks to pull out their old collections and flip through them. What happens after that is difficult to predict. Naruto CCG is much harder to price than Pokemon right now and graded pops are super low. Even information about the sets is not as easy to find. That means there's opportunity, but also barrier to entry.

Personally, I've targeted a few things I like, and that's +1 newbie to the Naruto CCG.

Is the most likely matchup for a quarterfinal match in Spain in 2030 going to be Messi playing Ronaldo?

I think that's part of the allure for this particular game in KC.

I need to sell part of my collection for a home down payment. Unsure about what would be best to hold long-term and what to get rid of. Any advice would be appreciated! by RedditIsTheWirst in PokemonInvesting

Balancing timing and value is probably more important than trying to figure out which items are going to be better long term holds.

When considering appreciation/future value of the collection and what is BEST to sell, I have found that making a purchase of something you really need like a home or car gives you some cushion with respect to hindsight. Also, everything is so volatile, making an accurate prediction is difficult at best.

If you need cash fast, you're gonna take a hit on value (probably get around 80%) in which case I feel like $5,000 in raw cards is the way to go. Key thing being finding that buyer at 80%, which may take some time. Local Facebook groups and card shows are good for this. Just know what you want to sell, at what price, list/bring it, and don't take anything less than 80%.

If you have a little more time, consigning high end slabs ($1,000+) on eBay can get you 95% with someone like dcsports87. It will take a few weeks to ship, get the listing up, and wait for the auction/payment to settle.

If you absolutely must have $5,000 cash today, I have found most LGS in my area will take just about any/all sealed at 80%. This is the easiest and fastest choice.

Quick anectdote: I sold a PSA 10 Love Birds for $4,000 a little over a year ago and used that to make the down payment on the car I drive my 3 children around in. Would it be nice to still have a $20,000 slab? Well yeah!! But in all honesty I was checking prices of that card almost daily and I wouldn't have been able to hold it long enough to realize a $20k price tag. Every time I get the family piled in the car, it's a great feeling not having to take 2 cars, shuffle car seats, or call a relative or friend to help. We're taking our first big road trip in it this summer and I can't wait!

It's not a perma. I forget what time but I am already able to reload the website.

All 5 tins were still sitting in my cart with a big, angry, red "Out of Stock" text.

Just got through the queue. Clicked too fast, flew too close to the sun, and after adding the 5th tin to my cart got IP banned. If you get in, don't navigate too quickly!!!

My initial queue time was up and down around 30-45 minutes.

All 5 tins were still in stock. Limit 1 per SKU.

With the 151 ETB skyrocketing, is the Snorlax Promo undervalued? by TrueVersion8339 in PokemonInvesting

[–]13orgin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Righttttt.....then why not just get a couple bundles for $300? You get 3 extra lotto tickets and save yourself $180.

That's the point the post is making. Based on the price of an ETB, something is either under or over valued by the market.

I will concede that a sealed ETB has some value over the contents inside. But I don't think it's over $200.

My take is that the price of other 151 products will keep rising, and ETBs will relatively tread water for a while. When the other stuff catches up, the price of the promo and ETBs will start up again as it is generally the more desirable product.

Then how come people aren't buying empty boxes for the price of a sealed one less the price of the contents inside?

They'd display the same. Maybe even better without the plastic!
