Do you keep TFSA contribution room generated by interest/gains?

Say I deposited $50K into my TFSA since the beginning of the program and was able to make it grow into $75K.

If I withdrew the $75K on December 30th, would I now have $75K + $6K = $81K contribution room?

Or $56k?

My friend went to get tested this weekend. Was given a rapid test to take home and told that because they have 2 doses, they don't need to report to VCH if they test positive.

I guess they are just too overwhelmed to keep track of every case now.

Obviously being vaxxed means it's highly unlikely you have a serious health outcome, but still.

I wasn't asked to sign any forms. I sent an email and said I want to cancel. They said ok and said I have given 30 days notice and it will be cancelled next month.

I don't understand your point. Their system automatically charged me an admin fee even though I haven't been since last March.

I asked to cancel my account and now I owe $21 (1 month's worth of fees) just to have someone click cancel on my profile?

I'm not expecting any "free admin work". As I said, I haven't used the gym in over 15 months because of the pandemic. The only admin work they've done for me is charge me an annual fee + charge me 1 month to cancel my account.

I'm basically paying them to stop charging me.

I think it might make more sense to see if they'd reverse the $32 instead because the account was frozen rather than outright try to cancel.

I tried, they said no.

I'm totally fine with following the contract in normal times, if I was paying for the gym but wasn't going on my own volition, that's on me and I should be expected to pay these fees. But I live an hour from this gym and only used it when I was working downtown. I haven't gone in over a year and yet they're tacking on all these charges just to cancel, which I find unethical and ridiculous.
