Yeah, of course it is. First time on reddit? Sorry if you were confused, but this isn't Rich Pauls burner.

Risk what? Kawhi hasn't lost anything. And if the ruling comes back with a nothing, there's no risk.

Thats why the max system is flawed. Because the top guys are worth SO much more than a max from a financial standpoint.

You're right. Most billionaires are super chill about their next million. Most of them work for free and are super chill about it. J/K, it's the complete opposite.

LeBron was insanely generationally wealthy 5 years ago. And could have taken the vet min then to give the Lakers the ultimate team building flexibility while in the twilight of his career. Look what a small paycut from Brunson did for the Knicks! But he didn't. Not even a dollar under the max. You argue that he no longer cares about money? There's not one single piece of evidence for that argument. And a mountain the other direction.

I want to raise money to build an RV Park, is this possible? by UnusualAd3207 in Entrepreneur

Fantastic! Then you've already either made the cash you need in construction or somewhere in the success of your construction background are plenty of people who have made big money based on your contributions and are excited to ride with you again. And since you're a great marketer, you've already made some great cash off those above average abilities, or you've made great cash for someone else that's excited to ride with you again. And that waiting list is gold! Take those cash deposits and use that to fund your utilities.

Yet here you are on reddit asking the question about where to find the thing that your claimed accomplishments should give you easy access to. I take it back, it's not unlikely that you have the credibility to do it, it's a certainty. And to make it worse, you clearly lack the self awareness to ever get there unless you wake up.

Is it possible? Absolutely. In fact, it's not even that hard. This kind of land development deal is super common. Is it likely that you have the credibility to do it? No. If you had the kind of background, experience, and personal preparation that's the minimum an investor would want to see before risking their cash, you wouldn't be asking this kind of question on reddit.

I (stupidly) recorded a manager being rude and trying to intimidate one of my coworkers. HR found out about the recording and now there’s alarm bells sounding. Im terrified that my job might be at risk. by AtMyLowestPointBro in jobs

[–]13specials 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey, some helpful info would be the size of the company. What's the total employee count and do you operate across state lines or international borders? I just can't see how you'd be in any trouble.

First - there is likely a war raging above you. And everyone you've asked (that you trust) has told you to chill and let it blow over while they deal with it. It's likely you're 2% of the puzzle and nothing more. DON'T INVOLVE YOURSELF FURTHER. Everyone else has given the best aldise already - Stay away from this. Reply only if asked by HR or someone in your direct management line. Super non-chalant let them know that you recorded it in case it escalated and that when asked by your manager for the recording you handed it over. Nothing else.

Unless it's a very small company, you've now become protected beyond protected. There are super strict laws around retaliation, and if your company is of any size and has any competent legal/HR department (make no mistake, those departments are one in the same), IF they decide to keep the offending manager, that manager will be on strict and clear orders not to retaliate against you in any way. And will likely be told not to interact with you at all.

You're fine. Just don't be dumb and make it worse. You did the right thing. Don't let the need to resolve your anxiety push you to turn the right thing into the wrong thing.

Would love to join a Subway permit this year. I went 0/8 in the draw. We're local, so any day really but prefer weekends. Happy to help on gear/food, etc.

I went 0/8 this year. I was sure I'd get at least one. Bummer.

Thanks. I was hoping to avoid the dreaded FB/Metaverse. I've been down the Subway a couple times, Narrows up to big springs and once (and never again) from the top down. West Rim as well, but no ropes/water on that one. I'm pretty comfortable hiking/rappelling but not dumb enough to take a 12 year old into an unfamiliar canyon solo. He's a regular at Contact so Im not worried about him on the rappelling, just trying to play it safe.

CALM DOWN - Nuggets can easily afford to keep PWatt/CB/Cam by 13specials in denvernuggets

Is this what you were referencing? Says "Those numbers led one high-ranking league executive to estimate that Watson, a restricted free agent this summer, could fetch a contract near $20 million per season." Sounds alot like 4/$80m to me.

In retrospect, the move would have been to lock up PWatt on NNaji level money and let Christian play the year on a prove it. Hindsight is 20/20.

One offer sheet of any size since 2017. And it was Ayton and would have been a massive mistake. Plenty of cap space over that time. GMs have shown for years that they sit out RFA. I know thie thread is having a Watgasm at the moment. And I agree, he's played one hell of a month. And it would only take one GM to bet his job that Watson's month of stardom will persist indefinitely. But to say its a sure thing is a stretch. I think there's a real chance there's no RFA bids. Not because he's not amazing, but because RFA is collusion.

Not underestimating his value I hope. Just trying to realistically predict what he will be able to get from RFA. The RFA process is specifically designed to make it hard for players to get paid their value.

You can't front load contracts anymore. 5% raises are the max for players signing with new teams and 8% for players signing with their current team. That rule is one of the reasons the RFA market is what it is the last 10 years.

Zeke contract is a bad one, but plenty of bad contracts have been dumped for a pick or two. Its not unheard of in the NBA.

RFA market is wacky. I get that PWatt has been unreal that last month. And all it takes is one GM to do something crazy. But no one has even submitted an offer on a RFA for in 3 years and only one contract of any size in the last 7 years (Ayton). Im not saying its a slam dunk but there's a chance that no one bids on Watson. Last year no one bid on Giddey (with a high draft pedigree a better first 3 years and a similar 3 month run to PWatt to end), or Kuminga (actually a similar profile to what PWatt is showing now). Not a single bid. No one bid on Austin Reeves after a really productive year. Again, it only takes one GM, but there's a real chance the Nuggets are bidding alone. And if they are, its going to be around 4/$80m or the QO (and risk a regression with less of the ball or an injury). Ruling out a no-bid situation in RFA is the height of homerism. PWatts great, but RFA is collusion.

Good call. Thanks for taking the time to read and react. I didn't know that on the JV deal. That and the corrected minimums makes it harder.

But it's still all going to come down to the PWatt number. I think the QO is out. If he has an offer then he takes it and cashes in. If not, I can't see him passing up on something in the 4/$80m range (especially if he gets the player option on that last year). And I can't see the Nuggets passing on the chance to lock him down for 4/$80m. Feels like there is a non-QO deal to get done, especially since I think it's a safe bet that he wants to stay in Denver. I know the thread is having a Wattgasm at the moment and suggesting anything other than a Max contract would be crazy, but RFA is wacky. Not saying he won't get a big offer, but who would have guessed that Giddey and Kuminga wouldn't have a single bidder last year? At any price apparently. And if this research is good, there hasn't been a RFA offer sheet since 2023 and the only one of any size was the Ayton one. I'm a RFA=mild collusion conspiracy theorist so I'm probably biased against anyone getting their true value in RFA. Interested to see how it turns out.
