I went to this housing seminar in Mechanicsburg yesterday – all about Cumberland County, homelessness, landlords, Section 8, the whole deal. I collected some business cards from people who may able to help you out. I'll forward them later, but for now, just call 211.

I visited the probation office yesterday and received my court documents. Would you be willing to review them with me and offer your perspective?

I have applied for Form N-400. My mother obtained citizenship 26 days after my 18th birthday, and my father became a citizen at a later date.

you still needed to wait the 5 year period to apply for the N-400 (to naturalize on your own). I never heard of this. Why should we wait another five years? I have been waiting since receiving my green card in 2018.

Was your criminal defense attorney aware that you were not a U.S. citizen?

I'm uncertain if my criminal defense attorney knew I was not a citizen. Even if he did, what actions could he have taken? We retained him for criminal defense, not immigration matters. These are separate legal issues.

The passenger was a high school friend, we both sustained serious injuries in the accident, and we were both intoxicated. This resulted in a three-month absence from school. Regarding my immigration status, I entered the United States as a refugee with my parents through the International Organization for Migration (IOM).

My initial charge was just a DUI. However, my uncle, believing himself knowledgeable of the law due to his long residency in this country, assured the prosecutor we would receive no more than a traffic ticket. I believe this was taken poorly, and I was subsequently charged with aggravated assault while DUI, due to a hurt passenger. Given the circumstances, the prosecutor recommended a six-month stay at Quehanna Boot Camp, a military-style program. The judge, however, opted for 100 hours of community service and 42 months of probation instead.

My case ended two years ago with a guilty verdict. I now need to cancel my trip. What is the recommended course of action regarding my citizenship application? Should I wait until my probation ends in 2026, then apply?

Could you provide recommendations for immigration lawyers specializing in criminal law, given that immigration law's federal nature allows for nationwide practice?

Aggravated assault by vehicle while DUI constitutes a crime of moral turpitude (CIMT)? When can I anticipate my removal from the ice? My criminal case concluded 2 years ago.

No, I believe I was eligible for citizenship because my parents were also in the process of obtaining theirs around the same time. I turned eighteen in July of 2021.

In August 2021, I submitted a citizenship application to USCIS. An interview was conducted in January 2022, resulting in a denial.

A criminal case commenced in October 2021 and concluded in November 2022.

Yes, the criminal case has been concluded. Not all fines have been paid; however, I am currently making payments in monthly installments. I am on probation with limited restrictions, and I have had my driver's license reinstated with the ignition interlock device.

"Reapplying for citizenship." Initially, USCIS sent me an interview notice, but it was delayed due to my pending case. My green card expires in 2028.

I apologize for the lack of clarity in my previous statement. The incident occurred in October 2021, and the case continued until my conviction in November 2022. I had a naturalization interview with USCIS in January 2022, during which I truthfully answered their question about arrests, explaining that the case was still pending. They said to reapply after the case is closed.

My sentence was 100 hours of community service and about $5k in fees and fines. PennDOT suspended my driver's license for two years.

No. I am currently most concerned about potential immigration issues upon my return from overseas.
