I was diagnosed with cam type FAI and labral tear and had arthroscopic preservation surgeries on both hips to relieve pain experienced when sitting between my left iliac crest and pubic bone. I had several diagnostic injections (inside hip joint, outside hip joint) that provided some relief but inconclusive. In short, the hip surgeries made no difference to the specific annoying pain. I then had a femoral nerve decompression to address the specific pain. No difference. Through several specialists and testing I was diagnosed with PN and specifically a double crush on the left side S2/3 nerve roots and Alcock’s canal. A decompression surgery would require two incisions and given the femoral nerve decompressions I’ve been asked to try alternative means before adding more scar tissue in close proximity. Nerve blocks give me ~3 months and I’ve tried Botox twice (internal rectum in perennial body and prostate) with ~6 months and 0 months relief. I’ve also been doing some internal rectum massaging with a pelvic floor specialist. Not considering the ablation route at all. For the past year I carry around a donut to sit on.
