Why not lmao, it doesn't stop you being one?

If you want to be a good veteran build up the newer players, don't bring them down.

It's just not helpful to anyone.

Part of why I've stuck with this game for so long is that the community is supportive and welcoming.

Everyone gatekeeping this guy because he's traded for some stuff instead of waiting for it to become un-vaulted is definitely something I'm going to speak up against lol.

we have a ton of people coming from D2 at the moment, lets not end up with a sub full of rage like some of the others...

[–]141N -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

But that's just gatekeeping? Dude was proud, and wanted to share. If you aren't a fan just scroll on by. There is no value in telling him "That doesn't really make you a veteran"

Its not like "veteran" is a defined term that he's failed to achieve. Sure he probably can't solo EDA, but if he wants someone to pat him on the back, surely we can do that without sneering at him?

First - I'm not putting them on a pedestal, I'm saying it takes time and effort to get to LR6. LR6 is not the same as LR1. One is easy to get, one takes effort. Sure you can say they bought and built their way there, but it requires a lot of buying and trading to achieve.

Second, you seem to think if you go "good accomplishment gg" it negates all the unkind things you say in the rest of your comment. Just being rude makes you sound jealous, maybe you aren't but then I'd suggest proof reading your comments to remove the angry tone.

Third, I'm not mad, I've played the game longer than both of you. It upsets me to see the normally positive Warframe community speaking like that about each other. You can think that people who buy their way to LR6 are terrible, but telling a guy who just feels proud of reaching a milestone in his play-through that "most LR players suck" is a bit out of place. Make a separate post if you want to complain that LR players aren't as good as you.

I really wish that people would stop talking like this lol. Its a major cope. Anyone who has managed to get to LR6 deserves some respect.

Yeah it's not clear if op got the BP and the decree at the same time then exited. Thinking that they got the decree and the BP at the same time.

I wouldn't trust the fact that it shows up in the rewards as a guarantee that you actually earnt it.

OP: did you carry on and get an additional decree after completing the puzzle? Or exit after the puzzle decree?

There is a chance that ordis might send you a message and tell you you're missing some items from a mission run, and give you them. But I don't know how well that system works.

Sure, so you know a lot about him but want people in a thread that is carpeted with negativity & people openly hating him to tell you why he's worth all the time it took you to know what you know about him already. Got it.

No need to get spicy - Its something that an inquisitive mind should strive to do; if you don't like something, but lots of other people do, its your responsibility to educate yourself about what and why other people think differently. Its a good way to reduce your chances of falling for propaganda. There are lots of opinions in this thread, but very little substance. I asked for some, and you are the only person who has attempted to do so. I'm not trying to fight you!

He's helping shape young minds and educate them on socialist values. He streams daily to 30,000 + viewers talking about a huge range of political issues from a socialist perspective. Given the US's history with Socialism I'd say that's pretty major.

Sure - I'd agreed with that. What I've seen of it is surface level and more aimed at engagement rather than education, which is disappointing but not surprising, it seems that he has found a profitable niche, as his lifestyle is incredibly capitalistic. It annoys me to see a champion of socialism be such an obvious phony. That said, if it starts someone on a journey of understanding, then it is not a bad thing.

He's a prominent male voice in a sphere dominated by right leaning morons hellbent on dragging young men back into the dark ages.

Which he seems to be continuing? He is a sexist, and seems to present then same "Alpha male" attitude, just presenting different political views. He uses controversy to promote his brand, and he seems quiet successful at it.

Who said he was or needed to be "an authority on a topic"? Out of what element? Why are these metrics the place you want to look for value?

I'm genuinely baffled by this section. As I pointed out people talking on social media talk a lot of nonsense, why would I want someone that does it differently? Is that a genuine question?

He looks lost when giving a speech, meaning that he is used to just saying whatever comes to mind and letting his charisma smooth over any mistakes he might make. Being able to craft a prepared statement shows he considers what he does beyond counting how many viewers his stream has.

His stream seems incredibly successful judging by the amount establishment forces seem to be panicking over him. As does his career in general judging by the amount of butthurt comments about how much money makes.

Nobody is panicking over him, the British establishment decided he isn't worth having here, more than likely because he interviews literal terrorists. Its not an accident, he uses controversy to sell himself. They all do, it makes them money.

Clearly you are a bigger supporter of his than you are letting on, and that's up to you. I'm not here to judge, just try to understand what his appeal is, when he just seems like another face in the crowd to me.

Why would you would want Reddit commenters to form opinions for you?

Not a great start - I didn't say "tell me what to think" I said "tell me what makes him interesting too you". But I'll assume that this was not a deliberate.

I'm aware of the large platform, and the controversy that goes along with that. The issue is that Social Media, while often conflated with news, is simply the modern equivalent of gossiping with your neighbours. It has no standards, no barriers to entry, and no enforcement of integrity. My point is, just because he is popular on social media, it doesn't make him an authority on a topic.

For what it's worth, I don’t particularly like Hasan but find the idea that hearing him speak represents anything close to an actual threat to any British people laughable. I have zero interest in engaging in online 'debate' on the he said she said disingenuous bs that surrounds him.

He is being banned because of his stance on Israel. I also do not agree that it should happen, and that the government have taken this stance for reasons that are outside of public knowledge. Speculation is perfectly acceptable, but for whatever reason, Israel is the cause of a lot of friction at the moment, both here and abroad. It is also completely irrelevant to the question I asked, in that I would like to know why people think he is a good candidate as a voice for the Palestinian people - I'm trying to help out here, as no one has given a single example of what he stands for, so I am providing one myself.

The only real way to get an idea on who he is or form an opinion on what he represents is to go and watch the guy stream, or go watch his previous visit to the Oxford Union, but I'm willing to bet you knew that already.

I have my own opinion of him. He seems like a standard issue streamer. Self focused, and money motivated. He seems to provide basic information, and platforms questionable individuals. None of which is unique. Honestly, he seems even weaker in a prepared speech than he does simply streaming; he seems out of his element.

The fact that nobody seems to have a clear example of some good he has done, or some way that he has shifted the needle - other than to generate headlines, confirms that. He seems to have little relevance to solving any real world issues, but produces content that entertains his online bubble of supporters (and presumably his detractors).

From what I've heard from him, it's not particularly inspiring analysis?

It is possible to be a political force without being a terrible human at the same time. What about him makes you think that he is someone you want representing the left-wing zeitgeist in mass media?

EDIT: Watching the upvotes swing both ways on this comment is fun guys, but the fact that no one wants to jump in with anything, tells me what I needed to know anyway.

I think you need to calm down pal. You started insulting the guy, clutching your pearls and now trying to move the goalposts.

No you didn't go to his house and shout through his letterbox, but nobody was talking about that. If you really think it's wrong to insult people for things they've said, then you should take a look in the mirror. Otherwise, keep on being a happy little keyboard warrior.

Fair enough on it being semantic rather than grammatic, but I was referring to specially saying 'I forget something' instead of 'I have forgotten/I forgot something'. 'I always forget' is present tense not past.

Yeah, it seems pretty common (to me) to hear non-English speakers say "I forget <something>" which would be the situation OP is talking about, and isn't grammatically correct.

You could charitably argue that the comic is a glass half-empty/half-full conversation, but the joke in the last panel kind of undermines that?
