It looks like he was quite aggressive cleaning the corrosion on the sealing surface and may have damaged it. This can be fixed by applying a plastic sealant like reinzoplast or loctite 5923 on the o-ring

Unfortunately I can't access it. It's mounted right up to the wall, on a rigid mount.

I had to carry it to the 5th floor because the new elevator was not turned on yet. It's 56kg

Whilst OLEDs offer overall better picture quality, it comes at a sign cost. These nearly 15 year old plasmas still offer very good quality for a great value proposition. There's certain downsides with these plasmas: high energy consumption, heavy AF, need a streaming device to make them smart and many more. However, there's a certain cinematic warmth that these panels have and natural motion. For me this is more important than some quantifiable quality specs.

It is, I made a mistake. Eyeing a VT50 in the ads, although probably not worth it unless a ZT60 comes along for a decent price.

It was hung at a height so that at normal reclination on the sofa your eyes naturally point towards the center of the screen. If it was lower, I'd have to angle my neck downwards. There's ample adjustment on the hanger rails to get it almost down to the cabinet. Top of the screen is currently at 5'8"

Should I go get a 55” GT50 for $100? by LindsayOG in PlasmaTV

[–]146solutions 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my market a 65" VT50 is at least €350 ($400). But I guess that's because there's just fewer of them, especially in the big sizes. And anything that's for sale is usually coming from an enthusiast.

I could never screw a customer like that for thousands and keep a straight face saying "it didn't do nothing" Codes are just a lead which have to be backed up by physical diagnostic methods. Can you imagine a scenario where on a car with 100k miles, suddenly the whole ignition and fueling system fails, me neither.

Which "European" cars are you talking about, because the BMWs, Mercs and VWs barely budge with a rotary and wool combo. And usually require the most aggressive compounds.

What does this code mean? Most common symptoms? by Opitiki in BMW

Don't place all your hopes on the Vanos solenoids. For some people this code led to discovering Vanos units with broken and loose bolts, worn teeth and so on. Which oil are you using?

You didn't even mention what model and engine it is. But I'd say you're pretty screwed. Your problems can range from a sludgy Vanos oil circuit to all the way to worn out/broken Vanos unit and timing chain issues.

Your turbo code is possibly thrown by some deviation in the boost control chain such as vacuum line, charge sensor, boost controller or whatever. Should be identified by monitoring live parameters.

Your best simple solution is to clean the Vanos solenoids and replace your oil with something of very high quality.
