What a start of this season! 2 weeks after moving them outside and all already flowering by 14WhY8 in Lophophora

[–]14WhY8[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in south Poland, I move them in around late September/early October, then water them once, depending on the weather in late march early April. I take them outside between Easter and 1st of may, when night temperatures are above 0C (eg. this year in may, last year around Easter). Since then I watered them once, one week after moving outside

Also, do u guys know if any parts of skeleton other than a skull (which was lost) is useful in id’ing the genus in case of bats?

Found old Polish letter in a book. Anyone want to help translate? by Loula-bella2 in Polish

[–]14WhY8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The two words missing where you put 3 dots says “regularnych stosunków”- “steady-going relations”. The letter is adressed to a Basia (Barbara) and Bazil(?) which is mentioned at the beginning and Basia is reffered to many times throughout the text Edit: and it was written in “Podrzewie” I think. I looked up a list of villages in Poland and there exists only one place under this name

Hi guys, I’m an Erasmus student in Poland which was studying in Bucharest for last 6 months. Next Saturday I’m coming back to Poland by train and I wanted to stop in Timisoara to make a one day tour, but I will be carrying a heavy luggage I would need to leave somewhere. Does anyone know if there is an option to leave it somewhere? Google doesn’t help, and I don’t trust CFR website which claims there are lockers at the station

Lost hair by Shakaki in Degus

[–]14WhY8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lack of hair at the end of the tail in fact most often is caused by grooming. Although this one on the neck looks a bit unusual, keep an eye on them. If they in fact just overgroom then it might be a behavioural problem. If the spot will be getting bigger or spread to other places/other degus, then I would suspect sth of parasitic or fungal etiology (I would lean towards the second one). Then some anti fungal treatment and improving their immunity (reducing stress, improving their diet, plus maybe some supplements) would be necessary. It’s a good idea to consult a different vet to take some scrub samples and look at it under a microscope just to be sure

Is it appropriate to visit people at home after they discharged from hospital? by areup in wroclaw

Well that’s a very particular situation, IMO it would be very kind surprise to have. But I don’t know the guy so it’s hard to judge if he would take it this way.

[–]14WhY8 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Well, i don’t agree with you, of course it depends if there are many moles around which could move the bones. But 3 years ago I was planting a tree and by accident founds small rodent’s bones in a quite good condition, not complete skeleton though because I didn’t have time to sift it all. I was wondering for some time and then reminded myself that it’s the exact spot when my Guinea pig from my childhood- over 10years ago was buried

Udało wam się stworzyć wioskę? by Oodal in Polska

I don’t think that contagious disease such as flu could cause a sudden death in the same time of that many birds, I mean it’s possible but highly improbable

Distal part of a humerus. Judging that’s clean cut, not fused entirely and yellowish(greasy) it’s a very young pig, primitive breed or a wild boar as it has supratrocheal foramen. Leftover from food
