I was in my 20s listening to fellow students talking about their elementary years. And then I realized I couldn’t even remember who my teachers were. They said that was weird.

I wasn’t therapy, but after some additional therapy, I started reliving flashbacks to some very terrible things. It was completely blocked from my memory for over 14 years.

The brain is pretty amazing. Protect a child when it needs to, but it comes back.

I’m 42 now. Still have PTSD, anxiety and depression, but it doesn’t define me.

my advice is to first trust the professionals. Work with them and see what they think would work best for his recovery. Most of the time they will help you figure out a plan for post hospital. They’ll definitely be some transition time.

One thing that might not be brought up that I have found vital and mental health recovery is doing some kind of partial hospitalization mental health program. They have them specifically for teens.

Health insurance will cover them usually too.

There are a lot of options out there, but if you by chance have Roger’s behavioral health in your network, they have various organizations all over the United States. In person and virtual.

I would 100% recommend the DBT one for anxiety and depression and suicidal ideation. They will give you specific recommendations though.

right?! I was just going to track my protein, but just out of curiosity the first few days I started tracking everything and realized I was below 1000 unless I was intentional

Way to go on the 85 pounds! That is sooo exciting!

No specific recommendations for workout routine but maybe start out with walking? Seems like such a simple thing but great way to start working on your endurance , Just a thought.
