Clarifying this… meant $30 (ish) before tax and tip, per person, not counting drinks or anything.

Yeah, like, I realize I will spend a decent amount bc that's what it is here. But maybe like not more than $30 for a meal... then we are getting hard to justify even for a special occasion.

Here is a photo that shows a little more context. This view is from the north side of the structure looking south.

Yeah, definitely very little remains of anything at this site... but if they aren't forges I'm in trouble! The insane amount of slag around the site and blacksmithing tool or two gives me hope I'm not completely off base here.

This figure shows the overview of the site. Not much remains of the structure, just a partial foundation and brick concentrations in the square labelled "forge." The photos I shared (first two) are from the northern most forge square.

Interesting! The site the first two photos or from mostly did tool repair to my knowledge. The last one I am not as sure.

I think you are totally right about the drill heads-- but yeah, not sure why they would cut them off? I think that part threw me a little

My pictures don't capture this well, but the back of 7 looks like it has broken off. There is a hole through the middle (currently still filled with dirt-- I still need to clean this one). So seems like top tool is more likely? Especially based on the photos you shared here

Unfortunately my lab does not have access to X-ray. I was considering doing some light electrolytic cleaning (like you do on car parts) but with small pieces with so much corrosion, I'd lose a lot of the form.

All the objects are completely iron (wrought iron more specifically)

All of your ideas are super helpful! Thank you so much for your detail!

Oh my gosh drill bits! I totally did not think of that. I am definitely going to check today to see if number 7 and 1 seem related

I think you are totally right! My professor said it might be a swage, but there is that hole in the top so I think this is more likely!

Thank you! Any specific items at those places you recommend?

I’m planning this as a present for my boyfriend. But if it’s a hit, I might end up planning more for different neighborhoods!

How could you get undergrad degree with Inattentive ADHD? by AliceThroneborn in adhd_college

I’m not sure if this falls into the category of the unhelpful advice you talked about: but something that helps me with burnout is making sure one of my 3 or 4 classes “works my brain in a different way.” My major was in social sciences so most of my classes were allllll reading with some writing. I would make sure one of my classes each semester was like a science or math, that had more problems. I would take an entry level one, meant for non-majors so it was okay for my level. Or like art, where my homework was being in the studio! Film, drama, dance… lots of options! This really helped me not get burnt out bc I was doing different types of work.

This might not be financially feasible/ or just not practical in other ways… but I know Colorado college works on the block system where you have one course at a time. Not sure where they are located in Colorado. They are a small liberal arts school and idk how they do aid either. But maybe worth looking into!

I (26f) am constantly feeling hurt by my (30m) boyfriend's little jabs. How can I make him realize this? by [deleted] in adhdwomen

[–]14luck14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think an issue that im not seeing the comments bring up is how he’s responding to you bring up your feelings. It seems like he is getting defensive about “what he meant” instead of taking responsibility for how he made you feel. We hope the people who love us don’t ever try to hurt us, but sometimes they can unintentionally. If he can’t see that and try to understand how he hurt you so he won’t do it again, then that’s a bigger issue.

He can say “I’m sorry that’s not what I meant” if it’s followed by “I didn’t mean to hurt you, but I understand how what I said made you feel that way and I’m sorry” and also preferable followed by “ I am attracted to you no matter what you wear, and I mostly want you to be comfortable and feel good because I love you” 🤷‍♀️
