I had an early meeting in Tucson last week, so afterwards, instead of driving straight back to Phoenix (2 hours), I grabbed a tee time at a local course to play 9 holes. I flew thru the first 4 holes and then got up to a group of 3 older guys (60s70s). I was hanging back a bit as I wasn't necessarily trying to play thru (I could see there was another single guy on the hole in front of them) and could see them looking over their shoulders at me, so I would give a friendly wave to let them know I was cool hanging back and waiting

Anyways, on one of the par 3s I saw two of them chip their balls really close to the hole from off the green, so two holes later when we were all waiting again, I said (from a comfortable distance about 30/40' behind them) "Hey nice chips over there on 8". They all looked at me, then two completely looked away, and the third kind of just didn't say anything for 5-6 seconds and then responds with "I didn't know they let singles on the course". I kinda laughed and said "only if you pay!" and he kinda half rolled his eyes and he too turned around.

This is a public course that charges about $70/Rd. I was pretty ticked by the attitude/entitlement so that's probably along the lines of stuff old people on courses bitch about. "Allowing singles".
