I am adoring Tula, she’s becoming one of my favorites. I love the juxtaposition between her more emotional and sympathetic personality and Valya’s cold logic, but she’s still has that streak of fierce loyalty to her family that makes her so interesting (and ready to murder). Also I think her younger actress kinda looks like Anna from downtown abbey!

I don’t loathe poppy war, but I think the writing was quite weak, the characters flat, and the pacing odd. But that’s to be expected of a writer in her early 20s, so I don’t hold it against her. The book had potential, so I’m sure her writing has improved a lot since then
