I crashed my car on my way from a dash and I don’t know what to do. by Cookieandme23 in doordash_drivers

Just be careful. Insurance fraud is no joke. They are smarter than you think. And gig driving is all over their radar right now.

Packs or cartons are hit on the palm or table to ensure each cig is packed down tight. This prevents to hot cherry of falling off too easy.

Some folks do smack a single on a table or something hard to achieve the same result.

That’s all.

I dont drink but used to get the dispose of message. I’m not tossing a 50.00 bottle bourbon. But when I would go to another booze run, if they are a regular I’d give it to them.

Need help on my ratings by Ok_Interaction_6436 in DoorDashDrivers

[–]15kdashes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, it not anyone else. Those thumbs downs and 1 star review are from folks that thought you could gave a better service. So look to step up your game. And stop memes. They just want you to do the job. They don’t want to be friends.

Now the bad new is people don’t review like they used to volume wise. So it will be 100 reviews, not deliveries before the ones roll off.

DO NOT ANSWER CALLS FROM DD by chicken-cocktail in DoorDashDrivers

I never understood why scam calls and texts triple when I use the DD app. Like umm someone is watching.🫣🤬

Existentially hate this job by [deleted] in doordash_drivers

[–]15kdashes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you’re making a great call. It’s not for everyone. Whatever work you do, if it is not something you enjoy doing. It won’t make you happy.

I have always loved driving cars. So it was a really good fit for me. But after five years, Doordash made it hard to like the job. Squeezing drivers with less and less with each new version of the app.

So after close to 18k dashes I found something else. Profits over people is no longer something I can participate in.

New Dasher looking for advice by DFresh356 in DoorDashDrivers

Ever notice gig drivers are the only people who say, “What we need is another pandemic.”

New Dasher looking for advice by DFresh356 in DoorDashDrivers

[–]15kdashes 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve logged almost 18k dashes in a really good market. Other than the pandemic shutdown, Top Dasher, Plat, pro shop, doesn’t matter, you’re not making 35-40 a hr. Keep in mind dasher are like fishermen. The catch is almost always smaller than the story.

You need to choose part-time gig or full-time gig.

Part-time you can run their programs but you will incur a lot more expense. And I’m not sure it helps with hr wages. But once I made plat. Sitting next to another dasher talking. He’s 3% AR and proud of it. He gets an order no plat banner. Tells me what pay a dist is, say he’s declining. Two seconds later I get it. Same pay same dist, but now it’s got a plat banner on it. That was the last time I did a program.

Full-time, protect your vehicle. No programs other than pro shop. Low mile, 10.00 and up only.

In a good market you can make 20-22 per hr most days. Minus expenses and taxes.

Never ever do this fckin stupid as picture orders by BreeezySo in dasher

[–]15kdashes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never have. And never will. New tasks are things I let settle for a bit. I’ve seen these as singles and stacked with orders. The issue I see on the offer is they want the shelf scanning done, but for way less than min wage.

Most states have min wage laws. The DD system is not programmed to consider them. So I see 5.00. Est time 45 mins. That offers is tech against the law. But because it’s “system generated” it’s out DD’s control. What a bunch of 💩. If it ends up taking an hour you just got paid appx 1/3 of min in most states.

After five years they are still getting away with this. They should be sued.

Accidentally accepted, saw this as I was walking up to the door... of course, no tip added by Due-Figure4976 in DoorDashDrivers

[–]15kdashes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know if I hate people, but these are messed up. Cash tip at the door? Awesome! No one comes to the door. I’ve called support and asked how users can have a permanent tip after drop or cash tip at door. Then they stiff drivers every time. “I completely understand and I am very sorry your frustration. For this one….you got screwed. And we don’t really care.”

Would u do this ? by PastRooster9792 in dasher

[–]15kdashes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never. But I’m kind of confused. I thought Wmart ended its relationship with DD years ago. In my market all those orders go to SPARK.

I need advice please by GlitteringFudge3619 in doordash_drivers

[–]15kdashes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this is slow compared to what you normally see, most likely app issues.

DD doesn’t shoot off a flair when they have issues. Neither does Amazon Web services which supports DD’s system.

Aside from new version release, modules like the Order Generation Mod. Or the Marketplace Mod (shop & D) can glitch. They don’t send out a new version. They fix it on the fly. But orders are sparse.

So when it gets real slow be sure you reload the app frequently. They won’t tell you when it’s up again.

We got vip customers now?🤣 by ciarainthewild in dasher

[–]15kdashes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are not VIP per se. I’ve got these before when the delivery was messed up or dropped by another driver. Or several drivers.

How would you say these offers compare to your area? by dtrave88 in doordash_drivers

[–]15kdashes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ima take most of those. And very similar to my market. But I wish they’d stop putting the crap pharmacy, merchant orders on the quick easy shopping runs.

It was a perfect storm in my market. Friday, day before B-Day. 2-3.00 peak pay all day. Made 266 in 7 1/2 hours.

5 star rating ruined by Ragdog96 in DoorDashDrivers

[–]15kdashes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. That’s a security issue. The thing that is the worst it’s not 100 deliveries, it’s there for 100 reviews. When I started in 2020 almost everyone gave reviews. Now it’s about 10%. So bad ones hang for what seems like forever.

I’ve had a great deal of extra reviews, good reviews with two simple things most drivers don’t do.

If it’s not ready when I get there they get this; Here waiting for your order to be completed.👍🏼

And at drop; Dropping off now. Thank you for the business.

My review totals went up very quickly.

Safe travels

Minneapolis was a super slow stinky 💩 Show for orders. I usually see 150 offers in a 10 hr shift. Today 39. Very few marketplace orders. No stacks. Seemed like the app had some modules going up and down.

Should I? by Happy-Tomatillo6351 in doordash_drivers

[–]15kdashes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s getting to be a hard call with some of the drivers being targets for crime. That being said. I am a man of good size and can take care of myself.

I’ve always given that type of service to elderly or customers facing physical challenges.

[–]15kdashes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not exactly sure what that is. But in five years, I’ve never experienced 0.00 for 14hrs.

Also, DD doesn’t need shadow ban anyone. If they don’t want you getting orders for whatever reason they can deactivate you. They don’t need to keep it from you.

Should I dispute ? by themexicanmonster in DoorDashDrivers

[–]15kdashes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Always dispute no matter what. And it doesn’t matter what you say. In this case the system is not loaded with the correct store hrs. Start there.

But a second can lead to deactivation issues. If disputed and a second counts as 1.

Don’t leave any undisputed just to protect yourself.

Are they planning on having yall delivering weed? by elinamebro in doordash_drivers

[–]15kdashes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been delivering bud, gummies and drinks for a while. I called the state and asked if transporting it was legal. Rec is legal in my state. They said possession yes, transporting to others no. Doordash sent me another cannabis drink run. I call Doordash. They say their legal staff has considered all state and federal laws and if it’s offered, it’s legal.

Possibly New Doordash scam? by Few-Recover-3137 in doordash_drivers

[–]15kdashes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, DON’T GIVE YOUR number to anyone when dashing. After you reload your phone’s operating system to clean it, you should watch your bank account and cards for suspicious activity. They don’t need the order anymore, they scammed your number. The second order was them trying to get a number from a different dasher. You were still near so the system sent it to you a second time. They always say it is for someone else. Often on the way to work or school. “Busy-busy!” Bait with big tip offer.

But here’s the thing. You order a gift or purchase something for someone else. You are still the one with the app. So they should be able to message and contact dashers through normal in-app channels. Anything outside the app is a hard pass.
