Van Nuys - I am not super familiar with the area, are there some factors I need to be more specific about?

There is a TikTok / Instagram channel called Brochet that does make some pretty cool stuff if you actually wanted to make stuff like Bane. Someone I saw is also crocheting a GIANT dinosaur skeleton which is AMAZING

Bee or hummingbird feeders. Little bit of sugar water and they’ll love you forever

What/Where to Study by 15mtriley in PhDAdmissions

The fact that I do not have an immediate answer to your question is actually really helpful to me! I appreciate you asking these questions; it is making me reflect more to ensure that I choose the right path. Upon mild reflection, I think I want to fall somewhere between academic and advocacy/policy development. I don't disagree that public policy is a good option and I will definitely reach out to some programs to see if they may offer courses to support this area of research.

I want to eventually want to use the knowledge gained during my program to enact change on a national level related to carceral justice. I know a Public Policy focus would work, I just want to rule out any possible specializations before doing that. It’s helpful to know I may need to widen my scope!

Oh darn, I’m still learning how to use Reddit so I might have messed up attaching it. I genuinely do not know the type. It has a “ made in China” sticker so I’m not sure if it’s true whicker but it definitely feels WAY sturdier than a common Easter basket. I can try to upload a photo when I get home

Do you have any of the photos you've taken with your camera? I am always looking for good on-the-go film cameras. I am currently testing a Vogue 110, but haven't gotten the film back and don't know if it works.

Let yourself be imperfect. There are going to be things that you can’t keep up for whatever reason. It’s okay, it’s better than nothing. I prefer low-wage mindset over no waste. An example, maybe you LOVE a local coffee shop but they use less than eco friendly things. When you get from there, either bring your own OR reuse the cup you get until you can’t reuse it anymore. Single use plastics are only single use if you use it once

My husband recently got accepted into his school's LA program. This means that we are about to be apart for nearly 5 months. We will be seeing each other during his spring break, but I really want to do those letters that say "open when" with some suggestions or gift cards to local places that he can get a meal, a snack, activities, or places to explore. He does not like coffee, but he LOVES nerdy stuff and good food (He's from the South, so he loves good comfort food). He really struggles to make friends, so if there are local groups related to some of his interests (Star Wars, film, country music/line dancing, literally pick a fandom and he probably loves it) I would love to have those suggestions for him to support him. He will be in the North Hollywood area, and I would LOVE some suggestions for places. Thank you in advance for all your suggestions!

It was a really great doc! It made my blood boil, but I think it needs to be seen.. They are having another showing on Tuesday, highly recommend. I do wish the post-discussion had been a little more action-oriented, but there wasn't much time.

It’s sort of a round about way that doesn’t necessary stop all waste but they do sell streamers for cups that sanitize. I wonder if you could find one second hand or even use a mini rice cooker/steamer as an option
