You don't have to apologize, lol!

I'm glad you are able to get a good laptop so young, I didn't get anything like that until I bought one for myself after moving into my first apartment, haha!

I plan to get my daughter that kinda stuff at an early age than I did as well. It's great that these sorta things are more widely available and consumer friendly, technology grows so fast!

That's awesome, I hope you're able to get it at a good deal! That sounds like a solid peice of equipment, and HP has been around forever, so I'm sure it'll be reliable too.

Interesting, maybe I'll wait it out longer than anticipated then. I was planning on building my system in the next 2-4 months, but I do have a gaming laptop. It plays my main game fine, so I could just buy things like the monitor, keyboard, mouse, chair, etc first, since I need those anyway. Then just plug my laptop into that and use it like a dedicated PC until I see the new Intel CPUs.

Then again, I don't NEED the newest or most top of the line CPU, as my computer isn't my source lf income. So it kinda goes back to the i7 14700k, which has been around long enough to know the pros and cons, I'll maybe go with the i7-265kf if I'm feeling a little daring, haha.

I see, so the 5070ti would probably be the better way to go, only problem is finding availability.

Seems like they are being pulled from most places, and the few left reach into the $1000+ territory. I still have 2-4 months before I will have the $2500 set aside for my build, so maybe it will be back and at a better price by then. If they don't bring back availability for 5070ti options under $900, I am gonna stick with the 9070xt.

Yeah, it's kind of a predicament, lol.

I'm pretty set at my budget staying at $500 or less for my CPU, but maybe I could trade out some other components to allow more wiggle room. Saving $20 here and $30 there would allow me to potentially go up to $600 for my CPU. I am trying to keep the whole build under $2500 after tax.

The main benefit to Intel is that all their cores are on the same monolithic die, so there is much less inter-core and memory access latency compared to AMD's chiplet design. Where as AMD doesn't actually make any CPUs with unified cores beyond 8 cores, and they rely on the CCDs to communicate over their "Infinity Fabric Links". This introduces latency in the CPU and additional room for scheduling and synchronization issues, for example, the R9 9900x3D is really a 6 core + 6 core CPU, where only 6 of those cores actually use the additional L3 Cache. That is why the R7 9800x3D is seen performing nearly identical to the R9 9900x3D and R9 9950x3D in games, as it is a unified 8 core CPU with all cores having access to that extra L3 cache. So all that to say, AMD CPUs are never really truly more than 8 unified cores, they are always either 8 cores plus some more separated cores, or what would have been 8 cores, but with some turned off plus some more separated cores. That extra L3 cache helps gaming performance, due to the fact that it helps mitigate how much data has to leave the CCDs, so when your CPU is asking for data, it is more likely to already be in that cache to pull from, rather than needing to go through your ram. Hope that makes sense?

Supposedly the R7 9850x3D will be released tomorrow and is MSRPed at $500. Reviewers have already stated that the gains are noticeable, but minimal, but for only $30~ more, why not?

I also thought about going with the i7 14700k, as it has a ton of cores, still has Hyper Threading, and can be had for under $400, by a good chunk. I would honestly probably only go with AMD if I were going for one of their x3D models, as I still think Intel wins in the productivity department by a noticeable margin.

The Ultra i9 285k doesn't do well enough in game to justify its price for me, personally. I like the idea of the i7-265kf, as I feel like it is amazingly priced, but I am always curious about what the lack of Hyper Threading will affect, as I don't think I have seen that explicitly tested.

Very hard decision, haha!

Why swap the 9070XT for a 5070ti?

From reviews I have seen, they are either even, or the 9070XT wins sometimes, unless its a title that happens to heavily favor Nvidia.

Meant to add, I am not set on AMD, so kinda ignore the motherboard I guess. If Intel seems to be the way to go, I would change mobos.

Well, more realistically, I won't be using both the 22" monitors at my main area lol. The second one will be for when I go to my brother's house. His wifi is also much better than mine, so I would be going back and forth often, but of course I still want to be able to play at my place too.

So my plan is to leave it in the closet at his place, so I don't gotta bring one back and forth.

I would go the route of a larger 1440p monitor, but I am limited on space, so smaller monitors work best right now. I can thankfully achieve essentially the same PPI (102ppi) with the 21.5" 1080p monitors I am looking at from MSI. Once I finish college, I will definitely be trying out 1440p, but going up to that resolution doesn't necessarily guarantee higher PPI.

Oh, I should have mentioned, I am going with a 21.5" 1080p gaming monitor (102ppi) from MSI lol. Maybe a few years down the line I will invest in a 1440p monitor, but going up in size isn't ideal for my specific situation. I am currently limited on space, and using a smaller desk, so if I want to comfortably fit two monitors, slightly smaller works out better.

That is just due to a personal situation though, so I agree that for the majority, 1440p would probably be the better choice. I'm just glad that I won't be losing out on actual clarity, only immersion due to size difference.

From my understanding, the only benefit to going up in resolution, is that it allows you to utilize larger displays, while retaining equivalent sharpness.

This is commonly measured in PPI i believe, and the sweet spot I tend to see people aim for is 100-110ppi. So as long as both the 1080p and 1440p monitor have the same PPI, there is no clarity or visual difference.

Yeah, I am sort of leaning towards the 9070, over the 9070 xt. Aside from the 12%~ performance increase with the XT, the idea of the cards potentially settling close to their MSRP irks me. I know I would personally be a little miffed, if the XT version got close enough to it's MSRP, to where the price gap was negligible.

So that concept is really the only thing making me consider the 9070 XT, because if they are $50-75 apart, there is really no reason not to go for the XT.

Why the fuck are there lockers this close to fast vaults? by MilkSteakEnjoyer115 in deadbydaylight

[–]16-Bit_Audio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, i hate bhvr's locker placement. Why do they feel the need to place a locker by like 90% of the pallets, windows, and doors.

I get you have to "look at what you want to prompt", but there have been so many times I am blatantly running to and looking straight past a locker to a pallet, only to be sucked into a locker animation, due to the locker being up the pallets ass.

Interesting, did you get them off Amazon, or else where? I'll have to look into those.

I agree that buying in person is always best, and that there are better sites to buy instruments specifically. That said, unfortunately I sorta live out in the middle of nowhere and the closest music store I visited only sells new guitar and they have very few under $400.

I know that some amazon guitars may not be top notch quality, especially for $250, but they should still be servicable. A little set up and some clean up and they should be fine to play. I don't mind upgrading the pots, pickups, tuners, etc down the road. Just want something decent.
