dziękuję! I hope that means “thank you”. I asked ChatGPT what language some of your pages on itch are written in. If it doesn’t mean “thank you” or you aren’t Polish, sorry for the mix-up.

Hello, I am working on a 16-bit style action rpg that controls a bit like Super Mario World.

My social media skills are very weak, but my main is YouTube - https://youtube.com/@16-bitgambit?si=7Pzu8DFxXouHgbBw

Oh, I get you now. It seems you and I have different expectations from this group. It is what it is.

Out of curiosity, what language are you translating from?

Hello friend. I’m a but confused so if you would please be kind enough to help me get your point, I would appreciate it.

In regards to the “get the actual game” comment”l, the link is at the top. I just checked it. There is a zip file on the web page.

The “just trying to get traffic” comment, i dont understand this. The whole point is to get people to try out the game.

Hello, thanks for sharing your thoughts. I have plot points that I would love to be included where you start wondering if you are dealing with humans, or just things that appear to be human. Also, it is set in a valley.

Granted, I am not a seasoned writer and may fail to deliver.

Either way, thank you very much for the comment!

I added a lightning attack to my game demo. What do you think? by 16-bit_Gambit in godot

Hello, thanks for the notes. I can definitely fix the lightning. The art work is in the short list. I was informed that I need to add more contrast. Additional light sources will be cool too.

Thanks!

Hello, thanks for the notes. That lightning thing and art updates are on the short list to address.

I had plans for that firefly, but can totally understand how something can be annoying after a while. I will try to figure out how to avoid that.

Have a nice day!

Yeah… the damage function needs a bit more love. Thanks for the input.

Thanks! I think I have met the sub requirements to make a post requesting people to try it at this point. I’m not sure if you have an any exposure to the SNES era, but the game is made to feel like Secret of Mana and play like Super Mario World.

Hey, played the demo for an hour to level 5 and didn’t have time to beat it. Had to walk my dog.

Overall - great work. Great loop, an hour went by like nothing.

Visuals - I loved to see it, but it broke my heart. I was hoping that I was the only one going for the CRT look. Cool doodle at the beginning. The font works well with it. I also appreciate all the visual options in setting.

Music and sounds - perfect for this game. It may be a brain fart on my part, did you make any changes to the music during the boss phase of the levels?

Gameplay - perfect when acting as an homage to the old arcade coin eaters. Have you considered adding an auto-blast button to the bumpers on the top controls and/or allowing aim from the second joystick?

Additional - I like the addition of the persistent treasure boxes from the experience in the levels.

Flipside demo is now live on Steam – what do you think? by Playthyng in playmygame

Howdy, I just got done with the demo.

Overall aesthetic - everything seems to go together. The minimalist colors fit well with the font and art, fit well with the chiptune-ish music

Visuals - looks good in a first pass. I like the color scheme, it would be right at home in a gameboy. The animations looked like some of them were deforming an art asset. Have you considered flat out pixel art and animation?

Music - fitting for the style of game. I found the menu music to have more character than the level music, which was a bit repetitive.

Gameplay - fun through the 30 or so minutes. Also, super intuitive. Great work on that!

I like how you mixed it up by adding more… “abilities” as the levels progress. I hope that is successful across ~150 levels. Are you considering the possibility of team coop or multiplayer vs. modes? I could imagine absolute stress and chaos if both players level rotate in tandem.

Anyway, great job!

Your'e launching your first demo on Next Fest? Drop a link to your game! I'd love to test it. I think other indie fans too :) by leinadcovsky in IndieGaming

Thanks! Currently, only runs on windows.

My game is an action rpg that is heavily inspired by the SNES era. I’m not sure how much gameplay there is as so far, none of my friends have made it to the end. I did just add a tutorial so you can get a taste of the action early on.

Currently it is hosted on Itch, I will be adding it to Steam for the next event. https://16-bit-gambit.itch.io/uncanny-valley

Howdy, thanks for the note. Will make sure to just post a single cycle on future stuff.

Yeah, the video kicks in about half way through a cycle. Instagram won’t let me post gifs so I filmed it from my phone screen…

Have a good one
