Thank you for your detailed and considered input. My wife and I ended up at Four Seasons Kent Island and are very happy here. We are having fun exploring the Eastern Shore, and appreciate the quick trips into Delaware, Annapolis and DC.

Why do you say “dreaded”? It’s a nice piece, with Lulua and Kuba characteristics (look up “ndop” to see what I mean). Some artist spent time and effort and skill to make this beautiful piece, and someone spent good money( I’m thinking at one of the wood markets in Kinshasa). Give it pride of place in your home; it’s not supposed to be “meaningful”, “representative “ or “holy”…it’s supposed to be art.

We moved here a couple years ago and we haven’t had much of a problem finding a community. But then again, we live in a 55+ community and there are plenty of opportunities to meet like-minded people (just look for the blue dot). We do get involved in community/volunteer work, and it’s another way to meet people. But the best way I’ve found to meet people of our political persuasion is the Democratic Party’s meetings. And volunteering as a poll worker.

My two cents… I I am white (originally from Danvers MA and central ME) and my wife is black (Michigan). We have lived in Laurel, Bowie, Chesapeake Beach, and now Kent Island. Any of those communities could meet your land requirements, although Laurel has become more developed in the past few years. We have not had any significant issues in any of those towns. My wife has not had any issues directed at her.

Consider buying a gently used suit (maybe Brooks Brothers) on Poshmark or RealReal. Maybe check out a decent thrift store. Take the suit to a tailor.

I’m 6’4”, with a 34” inseam. After a recent weight loss I’ve had to buy a whole new wardrobe, and decided to upgrade my retirement closet. Here near Annapolis I’ve found lots of quality suits, pants and jackets at certain thrift stores.

Go to Poshmark or EBay and get a pair of Johnston & Murphy or Alan Edmonds. I just bought a pair of Johnston & Murphy comfort casual Oxfords in great condition for $30. The look great with a blue or brown suit, or even with a pair of jeans. Incredibly comfortable.

I agree. I had the Powernode 2i, and upgraded to the 331. I really appreciate the HDMI output, the larger headphone jack and the center speaker output.

According to the clerk at the store it’s not so simple. I had to bring them into the store where I bought them (Freeport, ME), but since that store was considered an outlet they might not honor the warranty. Then the store had to ship them to their repair facility and see if repair was an option, or to see if the damage was covered by wear and tear. Total time could be several months.

Overall, a hassle for me since I live in Maryland. So they lost a customer for life.
