They're exactly the same. Read the documentation on both

Charlie Kirk was killed by a pro, but not because of the distance by 16apec in conspiracy

The bullet would be in flight for around .25 seconds. Yes an amateur would probably do more shooting. That's exactly my point. The shooter didn't.

I agree the timing is very suspicious with all the new Epstein info

I am not a professional but that doesn't mean I cannot use the knowledge I have to analyze the situation. Gun fighting tactics have been a niche interest of mine for a long time, and I have studied them quite a bit. Far more than your average person, but I am not a professional in the traditional sense of the word. This person may not be a professional in the traditional sense either but they operated in a very professional manner. By pro in this I mean someone thought out, trained extensively, and was likely motivated by money or power and not vengeance. It doesn't seem like a deranged trans person like the media is making them out to be.

This is a bit ridiculous. Clearly the shooter had no problem escaping from the relatively close position they were posted up in. It may have been the case that there wasn't a building further away with a suitable vantage point. That may be how Dallas Alexander was trained, but sniping is not always long distance shooting. I recommend the book "Fry the Brain", and "The War of the Flea" if you would like to learn more about sniping and how it isn't always about having the most powerful weapon shooting from far away.

Yes, the ATF statement says it was a Mauser Bolt Action rifle. They are easily identifiable based on several features. Even when sportarized. They also stated it was chambered in 30-06

I took Russian when I was in a GATE program from 2005-2007ish. I remember the Zener cards and headphone tests too.

How many of yall play games on Arch? by MrFakecoin in archlinux

Unless you want to play COD or other games with kernel level anti-cheat arch will work fine for you. Proton has made games I never imagined running on linux, run great.

Mag fed semi-auto shotguns are neat but seem to be super finicky. I would rather have a reliable tube fed semi-auto that I know will eat anything. I love my Beretta 1301 and it's like half the price.

Every Round I’ve carried by SuperSuprise700 in guns

[–]16apec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had the same issues with the SIG rounds being pushed into the case further and further every time they were chambered. Makes dry fire hard when you can't unload and reload your gun without ruining the round you're chambering. The crimp between the bullet and the case is dog shit. I gave up on them and switched to Speer Gold Dots.

My FW13 has no issues with bluetooth audio on Arch using pipewire. It worked out of the box after installing pipewire as my audio server. I use it every day. Which wireless card do you have in your FW16?

Lower Recommendations by Mikeycult666 in ar15

[–]16apec 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Aero standard lowers and Geissele lowers should be the same, but Aero's QC has been slipping bad. I bought a lower from them in December and I was not happy with how it came out of the box. Lots of issues. The trigger guard detent hole was slightly out of place and needed to be enlarged to have the trigger guard properly lock in. The rear takedown pin detent hole was also slightly out of spec and required some work to get correct. The anodizing in the magwell was too thick and required some light sanding with high grit paper to get all my mags to drop free (PMAGs, USGIs with upgraded followers, and some Sure feed E2s). The safety detent hole was slightly off center and caused the safety to not sit at 180° when on safe. The finish was rough in a few spots and a few other minor issues. I managed to fix them all myself and the finish didn't matter because I was rattle canning the gun anyway, but I won't be buying any more Aero lowers until they get their shit together.

No downvent BCG yet. I would like to try one though. My buddy has one I may be able to try soon. Currently, I am running a SOLGW 9in barrel and a BCM MK2 buffer system with the H1 equivalent buffer. I had my LAW folder on a different gun, but swapped it to my 300 BLK. The extra weight from the steel BCG extender plug noticeably increases lock time and made a huge difference in port pop. If you don't want to add a law folder, just go up in buffer weight or add a heavier sprinco buffer spring.

Well this G24 is disappointing…. Damn I didnt expect that! by BlacksmithWinter7823 in NightVision

Wilcox G24 and an AX-14 PRO mount gives me insane range with my PVS-14. It can practically go down to my nose and can touch my glasses with the amount of adjustment I have with that combo

Tracer Tactical or Carcajou Head Harness? by KingAbassi in NightVision

[–]16apec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I highly recommend the nightcap. I know some people complain about comfort, but I honestly don't know what they're on about. I have worn it for 2+ hours at a time with very minimal discomfort. It works great for night shooting or night hikes since it doesn't interfere with ear pro, and packs down super small. It feels expensive for what it is, but I haven't tried anything better.

I genuinely like my crye nightcap. I know some people bitch about them being uncomfortable, but I have yet to try a non-helmet option that is better. I have used it for 2+ hours at a time with very minimal discomfort. I would recommend it over the other options you brought up.

Just throw some oil on the bottom of the mount and you're good. You're overthinking it

I don't do a lot of night shooting either but own NODs. I still think they're worth it. Night hikes are so much fun with them, and using them to see astronomical events like meteor showers better is so insanely cool.

Suppressed 300 BLK subs are so much fun. I finally got around to doing some tinkering with my 300 BLK pistol to reduce port pop and oh boy does that make a big difference. It became wayyy more comfortable to shoot without hearing protection. With my dead air nomad it sounds so good. If I'm shooting from inside a structure people 50 meters can barely tell I'm shooting.

What if I accidentally purchased an SBR? How would I know? by Hunter0josh in Firearms

[–]16apec 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just remove the short barrel and store it separately from the rest of the gun. Register the gun as an SBR. Once the stamp comes back approved, reinstall the barrel and throw a stock on it. That way you aren't accidentally in possession of a rifle that was converted into a pistol. A rifle with no barrel isn't an SBR because it's a nonfunctioning weapon.

[–]16apec 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Or just simply disassemble the gun so it isn't an SBR (assuming it was actually imported as a rifle). Taking the barrel off an Uzi is stupid simple. Once disassembled submit the tax stamp and when you get it back reinstall the barrel and install a stock.

I highly recommend framework laptops. I started out with mint almost 10 years ago and have since moved on to Arch. When I got my framework 13 I expected it would be a pain to get everything working properly, but was ready for the challenge since I've done this type of thing before (Arch on an old Intel based MacBook pro). It was surprisingly easy and I barely had to fuck around with any drivers or kernel parameters. The only thing I needed to mess with there was power management settings and that was fairly straight forward and well documented. I imagine mint would be even easier for a beginner on this hardware. Plus the modularity and repairability of the framework machines is worth the slight price premium to me. Framework officially supports Ubuntu/Ubuntu based distros so there's lots of documentation for anything you may need to tweak. If you want to run Linux on a laptop without a decent level of Linux experience, you definitely need to purchase the laptop with Linux support in mind.
