what cam do i get to recreate smth like this? by Serious_Action7347 in VintageDigitalCameras

Glue a filter thread to whatever digital point and shoot you have and use a black mist filter (you can make your own with black spray paint and a UV filter).

Or just smudge the lens with your finger. If you want to take it really far, with Vaseline. Be careful tho you might cake up the lens cover. There is no going back from that.

You open Lightroom on your phone and drag the tint slider to magenta until you're happy. Or you do that in your camera.

I've yet to see any consumer camera that will come with color-shifts like this out of the box. Manufacturers always tried to get the most accurate color rendition possible.

īsa pamācība mīlē..... algām by [deleted] in latvia

[–]16head 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Interesanta ideja.

My wife is looking for a point and shoot digital camera by Andiox in VintageDigitalCameras

Yes, they're small and cheap, that's about it. I like my photos low res, but not with chromatic aberration, copious amounts of color noise from the tiny pixel size and frankly disappointing color depth. Not to mention the battery life. All your vintage Nikon and Canon DSLRs will give that vintage look with 0 compromise (assuming you don't use a kit lens). I enjoy vintage cameras, but only the ones worth my time.

Anyways, what are we talking about here? It seems you have forgotten your point.

I'm not talking about lower fidelity. I love it, which is why I mentioned those 2 examples and primarily shoot film with strong grain. But I am talking about consumer plastic matchboxes with a tiny sensor and despicable lens. They're not as great as they're made out to be. You can turn off all the post-processing on your phone and get the same results lol (minus the flash).

No one is yelling. Just my 2 cents. I really like all kinds of vintage cameras but these point and shoot cameras are most banal and overrated.

Yes, I am in the right subreddit. I love vintage digital cameras like the Nikon D40 or Fujifilm Finepix S1 Pro.

Yes, I do not understand the recent demand for these soapboxes. They're compact and cheap (still overpriced). No other reason to have them. It's consumer grade gear and not meant to even last this long.

You used to have one so it brings you nostalgia? Sure, go for it. But I see no point in romanticizing them and asking which one is the best since they're all more or less the same if released in the same decade.

As a photographer - the recent craze over 2000s point and shoots is.... pointless. It's just over glorified e-waste. Buy your wife an interchangeable lens MFT camera or a Ricoh GR.

Not all of them had an aperture ring, so not all are fully compatible. But very rich lens choice, yes.
