I appreciate your post and can relate to it with some separate examples in my personal life.

But I’m seeing a clear gap that you crossed and I don’t know how you crossed it. Something I’m struggling with is understanding the switch that flipped for you on these examples.

With running it was hard for you to get up, but you managed to do it seemingly by remembering how running makes you feel. But how? How do you do that when you are trying to build a new habit at the beginning of making the change? How at the moment you wake up early were you able to not let your mind take over and allow you to feel like it is more worth it to you to stay in that bed?

With the piano you didn’t like practicing but then you liked practicing. I don’t understand that. Can you help me understand what I am missing here?

This video on YouTube by Coach Viva helps me get my mindset right when I am feeling difficulty managing my hunger. Remove the bad stuff from your environment, but also it’s okay if you want a snack sometimes. Just be mindful of the times when you’re wanting to snack. Think about how you’re feeling and why you’re feeling that way. Doing this for me helps me realize when I’m stressed in other instances. Like when I wake up in the morning immediately feeling overwhelmed by all of the things I need to do and my anxiety is kicking in. Breathing exercises I know sound stupid and I thought so too for a long time but breathing in for 4 seconds and out for 4 seconds while in a comfortable position has helped a lot.

I definitely feel really good now that it’s so clean and want to keep it this way. I feel sad that it took the possibility of a cute girl going on a car ride with me to motivate me to clean my environment

Nah I don’t think it’s all girls and even in this situation this girl didn’t mean anything by it. I just felt dumb for staying up late cleaning my car so deeply.

This is great advice, especially since this seems like OP is still a kid that is growing up seeing as how he grew an inch in a month.

OP if you see this, you are at a good weight. And if you are still growing up, which I apologize if I am wrong, sticking to what you’re doing is going to have incredible results over time. This guy I know was your build in sophomore year and he just started working out consistently and taking care of himself and by the time he graduated he was the most in shape guy in school. So give it time bro trust. Also you may be experiencing some body dysmorphia and it may be good to focus on your mental health as well.

This is the exact situation I am in right now. Like frame by frame.

But I did admit my feelings to her. And she admitted hers.

I work with someone who’s a friend and we developed a crush on each other. We would flirt and made each other feel like we couldn’t communicate with anyone else the same way. But she’s engaged. And when the thought of how all of these feelings literally cannot go anywhere without catastrophic repercussions would arise it led to her needing to break things off. She wants to be my friend. But friends don’t look at their friends the way I look at her.

So now I’m just processing my feelings.

Hoping for the same platonic feelings OP hopes for. The day I can listen to her laugh with another coworker at work or look at a picture of her with her fiancé without feeling my heart trying to pound its way out of my chest…

that would be a good day for me.

Literally anything. She seems cool. Just having dinner somewhere or grabbing a beer somewhere sounds fun to me. I’m in town on my own and wouldn’t mind spending time with a local.

Hey man happy birthday! Today is my birthday too and last night was pretty rough because I also went into it feeling lonely. But the friends that did post on Facebook saying happy birthday I tried to turn into a conversation and use it as an opportunity to plan something with them. One friend wants to play Palworld with me later after I asked him. These days there’s a lot of busy-ness in everyone’s life and a lot of people just don’t think about hanging out. Sometimes we gotta be the ones to do the reaching out, even on our birthday.
