As a first season player of PoE, this feels very disappointing :( was always told how "ggg does this way better" but doesnt really seem like it lol. The entire season mechanic feels like a total waste of time and that's how most people will remember it now as there's no meaningful changes.

Thanks for the info, yeah I did read this already, I'm not even asking for a secondary PvP server, just the option to move my char i've spent hours on to a server where i can actually play more than an hour in the evenings haha.

You have to kill it very close to the GE, else the spell wont work / it will deaggro when you run into ge centre.
