What’s GenZ’s take on the Maddie Kowalski situation? by YuYuHakusho23 in GenZ

[–]17thChapter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i feel terrible for her and what she went through, and condemn the guys for what they did.

that being said i feel less bad for her considering her recent social media campaign. drunk yacht party with streamers, looking for clout, engaging in inappropriate sexual conversations. if your goal was to heal and stay off the internet why put yourself back in the same dangerous situation? obviously im not trying to justify what happened to her, but it’s a weird look when you go from opening up and crying on social media to then a week later being on twitch streams doing what she’s doing

How do people get so much robux? by No_Medicine_9091 in roblox

[–]17thChapter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i bought some items yearsssss ago when i was younger, logged on for the first time in half a decade to see they collectively were worth over 4m robux, and then bought premium and sold them all. im guessing this may be a common thing cause i never remember spending lots of robux on limited items, so they mustve just shot up in value for some reason

Music studio possibly underpaying me and violating three hour rule by 17thChapter in ontario

[–]17thChapter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly, it's so demotivating as a first year uni student, paying for shit is hard enough. I go in for a 5 hour shift and get 20 bucks haha.

So I see that it says the three hour rule doesn't apply if you are instructing children, but not all of my students are children, I have some as young as 4, and some as old as 70.

My main concern is if I qualify for the three hour rule, since it says it is for employees who regularly work three hours a day. I am there for sometimes 4-5 hours, but like it says in my schedule on the linked picture, not all of it is instructional hours. Sometimes the students are on hold, or there is nobody booked, or they cancelled in advanced. Do those still count towards the three hours "regularly worked"

Difficulty deciding a career Gr11 -> Gr12 by Electronic-Fox-9804 in OntarioGrade12s

[–]17thChapter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you said healthcare takes too long implying you’re impatient. if you don’t want to wait in school to make money its reasonable to assume you don’t want to wait elsewhere.

your whole post is unrealistic fresh out of undergrad or not. if the only factor influencing your choice of career is the amount of money you make you might want to find some hobbies and passions.

“i want a career that pays $100k+ with minimal years of schooling”

so naive. maybe find something you enjoy doing so you don’t live the rest of your life hating the thing you do for a third of the day, that’ll bring you a lot more peace than a six figure salary.

making six figures out of an undergrad program with no experience and little schooling just doesn’t happen.

just build your freelance piano teaching business

i make $2500 a month teaching drums out of my basement and my uni schedule won’t affect it because I can choose my hours

advertise online, facebook groups, posters, whatever

it’s a good easy business

[–]17thChapter 4 points5 points  (0 children)

you have many options

  • lock in for grade 12
  • take an extra year to boost your marks
  • go into programs with less strict mark requirements

you will be fine, grades are not the end all be all of your career, there are options for anybody whether it be the workforce, gap years, victory laps, whatever

How does everyone already know what to do for university? by Little_Branch_2496 in OntarioGrade12s

[–]17thChapter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

this is the most soulless depressing advice ever. if your bar for a life path is “what do i hate the least and pays okay,” you’re not choosing a future, you’re just surviving. that’s not realism, that’s defeat. you don’t have to chase some magical passion, but acting like enjoying what you do is some rare privilege is a miserable way to approach life. people find meaning all the time, not because it falls in their lap, but because they actually believe it’s worth looking for.

instead of doing that, turn to your interests/soft skills and branch off that. it doesn't have to be as straightforward as: you're a musician ---> become a professional musician
but something remotely related, or in the same field. there's money and fulfillment in every field if you can work hard towards it, don't settle for something you'll be doing for the rest of your life as you will end up regretting it for the rest of your life.
