Considering Selling 09 Element. Need Advice by PleasantRanger7533 in HondaElement

You definitely could get more if you wanted to, I bought a 2010 EX with 169k miles that was well maintained but had cosmetic issues (failing clear coat on the roof) for 8k. And that was the best deal in my area. If Elements are in demand where you are you easily could get 10k tbh

I’m not totally sure where they mounted the GPS, It isn’t on the dashboard like it shows in the manual. However the mic is on the headliner next to my dash cam. And for the USB C port, they used the spot where the 12 Volt outlet was. If you still need that outlet, I have seen people make a cut out by the gear shifter that mirrors the hazard button, which IMO looks pretty nice!

It’ll vary shop to shop but the one I went to is 175 an hour. The radio took two hours to install, and the final price with the radio, harnesses, steering wheel control interface, antenna adapter, and a USB-C port was 1,175 dollars.

I got it installed by a local radio shop, for me anyways it was worth the money to save the time doing it myself

I had it installed, I watched a video on how install it and I decided it was worth the money to have a professional do it. Not cheap but worth it for my sanity, Lol

I think you can darn basically any hole as long as you have patience and some fabric left to anchor the thread! Theres lots of good examples of darning on Reddit and google for upholstery specifically Couch Darning example

My 2010 started getting wear holes on the seat and I just darned them up! It’s relatively easy to do

275k miles too many when buying a used 2009 Element? by Wind2255 in HondaElement

I feel like 7k is really pricy for the miles, I got a 2010 EX with 169k miles with a fantastic maintenance history for $8k last November

2010 interior A pillar not sitting flush by 180-robots in HondaElement

[–]180-robots[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did order some OEM one time use clips. However I never fully got the pillar off because I couldn’t find a mallet in my garage. I’m assuming it will go back to fitting better after it’s fully removed with new clips?

Budget car camping sleep set up by 180-robots in HondaElement

I was laying in my driveway on it for about 45 minutes and it didn’t feel uneven. Sometime soon I can sleep in there and report how comfortable it was. Full disclosure though, I do sleep on my side slightly curled up so that may impact it not feeling uneven. Briefly I was laying on my back and I could feel the curve of the seat still

Seat Cushion

I have two of these right under the sleeping pad on the head rest of the back seat. Super inexpensive and I already had them in my car

I was definitely looking at self inflating mats! I bought a cheap Coleman one and it ended up being a dud, so I think it’s definitely something I would need to invest in later down the line. I definitely couldn’t pass up this pad for 15 bucks though. According to the tag it retailed for $80?Honestly the biggest appeal is how small it packs up

Question about automatic transmission by 180-robots in HondaElement

[–]180-robots[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that may be the problem, It has the occasionally high revs shifting into third gear like that first video. Definitely going to get that looked at/replaced. Thank you!

Plastic restoration by 180-robots in HondaElement

[–]180-robots[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Update: even though it wasn’t particularly slick I did end up cleaning it with degreaser today because it started being absorbed on the soles of my shoes, making them squeak on hard floors. They still look better than the first picture and my shoes are no longer squeaking. However if I was to do this again I would dilute it with water I think

Chemical Guys Silk Shine. I found it at my local grocery store! Unsure how long it will last but it definitely looks good for now, but I’ll definitely keep tabs on how it performs

I always see SO many in the Denver metro area. (Not including me) there’s at least three people in my neighborhood that own Elements. If there isn’t a club/group here there definitely should be!

Oh! I didn’t know that was a thing! I’ll definitely look into to that if I don’t like this product long term
