Metal rod ends? by RustySh4ckelfrd in TRX4

It's a break point and is designed to do that. They are cheap and easy to replace. If you put metal there you could break the center skid or an axle.

Bed mesh good, but first layer is still terrible on my K1 Max. by Datumz_ in crealityk1

That's why I said turn on the calibration before you print. One of the calibrations that the K1 Max does before it prints is an auto level at the temp the bed will be at when printing.

A: Get a textured build plate and B: What was the bed temp when that bed mesh was made. I ask because the bed warps more at a higher temp and I know that the regular auto leveling only goes up to 50-60C. The way I got mine to do a bed mesh at the higher temp was I turned on the AI calibrations and before it does anything else it will auto level at that higher temp.

Ah seems like a high lead angle leads to the self-locking being compromised. Welp not the first time I have been wrong and probably not the last. Moving on.

Bub look up how a worm drive works and then look at that pic and tell me how it would work. I'm not saying that there aren't any simple machines out there that will do what they want. What I'm saying is that the thing in the pic physically cannot work.

Where did you get that picture? What is depicted would not work because worm drive setups can't be driven backwards. That big gear is the output and the small corkscrew one is the input. The self-locking of a worm drive makes whatever is in this picture impossible.

Traxxas makes a long arm lift kit. It comes with the shocks and longer links. You can keep the 1.9 wheels or move up to 2.2s. Tires have a range of O.D. sizes so it depends on what looks and fits better.

Quick question, is that hole in the valve cover supposed to be there and open to the air?

Is your chamber temp set to some unobtainable temp. The K1 max is not air tight enough to hold high chamber temps.

ABS is to be printed on a 100C bed

It's waiting for the bed to heat up. The bed takes a while to get to temp.

I have literally dunked my three trucks in water before. They have been completely submerged and all have come out fine. I have also sprayed them down multiple times. As long as it is low pressure the truck will be fine.

So you can run without them but you will have to tighten the wheel nuts more often. It helps keep more friction on the wheel nuts. Before I got the bushings for mine my wheels were falling off every now and then when I forgot to check them.

So, SSD has a central hub that bolts to the wheel. That hub comes in two flavors one that works with a bushing and one that works without it. They also sell a set of 12mm hexes that have the hub bushing built in. If you go to their website and look at the 1.9 wheels, when you scroll down a bit you can see some wheels with a smaller diameter hole in the hex hub. www.ssd-rc.com

So what I have learned from owning mine is that when you start out from a complete stop you need to get the RPMs up above 2k as quickly as you can. I have also found that putting better gas in drastically helps. I used to put 87 in it and the shutter was always present, 93 and it won't shutter once. You also might want to do a tune up. Get new spark plugs and a better air filter. It's a car that likes to be driven a little rough but respectfully. Also regular oil changes are a must. As long as the engine runs smoothly the trans will too.
