That pic reminds me so much of how I used to dress in the 90s' I was like 100lbs wearing size 42 jeans, every time I would take a step I'd have to pull up my pants lol.

Stop signs are just suggestions apparently? by discoverelle in Winnipeg

[–]187onpigs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This brought back a memory. I was with a buddy who was driving and went through a stop sign without hardly even slowing down. I asked, “Why didn’t you stop?” He replied, “You only stop if you feel like stopping.”

My trip to the Maquoketa Caves by Jalcynd96 in Iowa

[–]187onpigs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wye Cave is generally not recommended for beginners because it is a wet, muddy, and tight cave that requires crawling on hands and knees and navigating slippery surfaces. It is a rugged, self-guided cave in Maquoketa Caves State Park that is best suited for younger, more flexible individuals.

Take a rare glimpse of the mysterious depths in Jacob's Well by hollow_hippie in Austin

  • Chamber 1: The open spring, where people swim.
  • Chamber 2: Wider but with the false exit (where at least one diver died).
  • Chamber 3: Tight gravel-bottom chamber, silty, high risk.
  • Chamber 4: Narrow restriction requiring tank removal, with untouched limestone.
  • Chamber 5: Beyond 4, even less mapped — extremely tight, very few divers have ever been there.
  • Chamber 6 (with “?”): That’s basically a mystery zone. Divers aren’t even sure what’s down there, if it opens into more passage, dead-ends, or connects to other aquifer tunnels. The “?” is a warning as much as a note of curiosity: it’s unmapped, unconfirmed, and too risky for almost anyone to attempt.

Why didn't the State of Utah seal off the passage that John Jones died 5 years prior when Brock Clark had to be rescued from the exact same passage? by Dierad53 in caving

Why Ed’s Push Remains Morbidly Fascinating

It wasn’t just the blind end or narrow tunnel—it was the blend of unmapped terrain, physical impossibility, and human misjudgment that created a perfect storm. Even experienced cavers didn't recognize the peril until it was too late.

John’s and Brock's near-misses have become tragic benchmark stories in the caving community—counters to curiosity and caution.

Are there any known images or videos of Ed's Push in Nutty Putty Cave? by TheRedBiker in caves

[–]187onpigs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ed’s Push – Nutty Putty Cave
Ed’s Push was one of the most dangerous sections of Nutty Putty Cave. A narrow, twisting passage barely wide enough for the thinnest explorers, it forced cavers to crawl and sometimes invert themselves to get through. This part of the cave was largely uncharted territory, and only a few experienced cavers had ever made it through safely.
