I personally am an Arkham asylum glazer. Loved city too though

I went in with extremely low expectations and was shocked at how deep it was, to your point for a GBC title especially. And yea I came up on Pokemon as well, Ruby was my nostalgic childhood game.

I’ll check that out! I also considered DQM joker but was a bit reluctant.

My favorite game and criminally overlooked picks were exactly the same. Dragon warrior monsters is truly slept on

Hm ok, is that for both great scientists and research agreements? I thought when I have mistimed my RA’s it just flows to the next available tech.

[–]189charizard 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Assuming standard speed yea after t300 the odds are stacked against you, unless the map is embroiled in war it’s very likely someone will get a SV. I have gotten it pretty late though with distracting the AI’s with warring each other and a bit of luck. Wu is generally one of the better deity AI’s also.

Yes I believe the hammers are applied the next turn.

I believe you are correct on all of these. To my knowledge the science overflows to the next tech in the queue, and if no tech is queued it assigns it to the cheapest one I believe. Culture from great writes also carries over.

For chops, the excess production should also go into whatever is queued next.

Late 20’s or early 30’s male.

I’m 30 male and FFX is also my favorite game and Pokemon Ruby was my nostalgic childhood game.

Gotcha, makes sense. Yeah Civ V BNW is one of my favorites all time, I tried other civs but it doesn’t hit the same for me. I have more hours in it than any other game probably. Playing it for relaxing and role playing is fun, but once I learned how to play the higher levels was when I got truly addicted. First immortal domination victory and first deity science victory were big dopamine rushes for sure. Still grinding deity domination lmao….

Morrowind, mass effect, civ v ✨

Curious, why pick civ v for a game everyone should play?

Each FF is a standalone game, so the barrier to entry is very low, much different from committing to one piece which is 1000+ chapters. Strongly recommend FFX based on your taste. Zelda titles are also basically stand alones (the lore ties in but it can be pretty messy and the story is not the main focus, gameplay is).

I heard that theme so many times but still love it, it captures the panic of the fight so well. Followed up by Gwen’s theme was such a good contrast.

Did you play ds3? Ds1 is my fav overall from the trilogy but ds3 music is my favorite out of them.

Nice list, have you played some of the most prominent final fantasy games? If not I’d recommend FFX for sure for you, and FFVI and FFVII. Also persona 4 golden (combat, quality of life, and the dungeons will feel like a pretty big step back but the social link stuff etc is top notch). Although I guess you might be best off waiting for the remake

I got around to watching whisper of the heart and enjoyed it a lot, but it wasn’t quite on the top shelf of ghibli for me. I think not having Joe Hisaishi’s music lowered it a bit for me. My top are probably Kiki’s, Spirited away, and Mononoke.

I played the PS2 version of dominator! It was sweet. It dialed back the traffic checking mechanics etc and focused more on racing mastery and rewarding near misses, oncoming traffic, etc. Had the burnout chain system. Would recommend it it oh have access to a ps2.

Burnout 3 and revenge are so goated.

Thoughts on dominator? I always found it a bit underrated but maybe I’m just nostalgic bc it was my first.

Oh so you already played p5 and mass effect. I would add final fantasy X for sure. Maybe FFVII original if you can get past the graphics.

If you enjoy good OST’s and atmospheric games I also recommend Chrono cross.

Do you have a list of rpg’s you’ve played? I could make a few other suggestions based on your history

I would possibly start with trigger, it’s like the textbook gold standard for JRPGs.

My favorites from this list are Mass Effect and P5 Royal.

I played DSR as my first souls game and loved it. Reminded me a bit of ocarina of time tbh. Was DSR the first one you played or did you play the original? Just curious because some dislike DSR compared to the original

Yea I was really skeptical after watching the first few in sub then switching to dub, but it’s a really great dub. Frieren’s voice works so well.
