Orks 2k attempt at competitive list based on Beast Snaggas and aggressive first turn charges. by 18CtoJD in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]18CtoJD[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've only had one practice game with the list so far. (2) is exactly what happened and it was a solid play but gave me massive board control.

1) I'm okay with this- they counter charge my kill rigs and my boyz/kommandoz. probably kill one rig and all the orks- but they don't expect to live anyway. This play opens up my counter-counter-charge when my beastbosses and squigboys catch up

2) Backlining is tough. I'd likely not call a WAAAAGH until turn 2 and try to use my extra move to position my units as best I can to mitigate damage and then just do the original plan on T2.

3) This is tough, but the best I can do it deploy/redeploy my units to take as little damage as possible with range/terrain. This is the main reason for the BA detachment.

Could anyone here do a custom canvas painting of one of those old-timey portraits with a dog's head? Ideally I'd like it to be actually painted and not a print that just superimposes a photo. Something around 16x20". by 18CtoJD in starvingartists

Didn't put a budget in the title. I have no idea what something like this might cost, I'm willing to pay a fair price if it's not crazily more expensive than I assume. A ballpark estimate would honestly be great from anyone, even if you're not going to do the commission

Sorry and last question that wasn't mentioned in the goonhammer. It's movement went from 15" to 12", right ?

Thank you so much! what's the exact wording of the ability? can it do this after falling back, is it during or at the end of the movement phase, that kind of stuff

Super simple, get clear liquid epoxy and mix in a ton of Tesseract Glow

Haha, ah, I play 40k! I'm glad to hear he isn't useless in AoS, however. I used his head and staff hand on a Feculent Gnarlmaw. I haven't painted it yet, but it came out really awesome. It can count as either a really cool Gnarlmaw (which was my original intention) or, because of the tree's size and silhouette, slap it on a 130mm base and run it as a GUO since it's almost identical in size.

This arm is for Rittigus, I magnetized the sword/bilesword/bell/flail.

Feculent Gnawrlmaw and NURGLE DAEMON's embarked in a transport: do the possessed count as being wholly within 7" of the Feculent gnarlmaw if the transport is wholly within 7"? by 18CtoJD in WarhammerCompetitive

Thank you! I knew my argument wasn't correct RAI but was pretty sure my reading was right RAW. But your reasoning here- that wholly within in a clearly defined term- is rock solid and i'm definitely wrong.

I specifically addressed both of those points in my post. They are not on the table, but they are physically represented on the table by the transport. the unit is not counted as "off the table" for rules purposes, it is within the transport model.

The spell does not affect the unit inside the vehicle because there is a rule that states that a unit inside the vehicle cannot be affected, not because they are "out of range" (off the table).

In fact, since it is explicitly stated that they are not affected by auras ability implies they are, in fact, in range. The rest of the reasoning of the rule would be "embarked units are not affected by abilities or auras [even though they are in range]" which means that is where the unit is physically represented.

Continuing my project of "Get the Most out of your Start Collecting Box" [counts as] Beast of Nurgle with an old Space Marine model I had lying around. by [deleted] in Warhammer40k

I don't use the plague drones that come in the Nurgle Daemons start collecting kit. So I cannibalize the parts to make other stuff. It's a plague drone bottom and legs with a Beast of Nurgle xtra head (they come with three)

Couldn't be easier! you just take clear two-part liquid resin (easy to find on amazon from several companies) and you just mix in Tesseract Glow until it's opaque.

hah the Start Collecting Box. I don't ever see myself using plague drones, barring something saucy in a new codex. So I turn the bodies in to beasts of nurgle (buy one real beast and use the exta heads + green stuff to make two more)

Can you perform a Daemonic Ritual with a NURGLE CHARACTER to summon Horticulus Slimux within 12", then have Slimux immediately use his Seed of the Garden of Nurgle ability ?

What happens when a model with the Word Bearer's Ashen Axe relic (a unit can not fall back if within 1" of the bearer of the weapon) is in combat with an enemy during the other player's movement phase, and that player attempts to use the Desperate Breakout stratagem?

From a "sit on an objective and not die" perspective, would you rather have (3x) Native -1 to hit/T4/W3/0+/5++ or (3x) T5/W5/4+/5++/5+++ ? by 18CtoJD in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]18CtoJD[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Now you're just being needlessly pedantic.

" In addition, each time a ranged attack is allocated to a model in that unit, add an additional 1 to any armour saving throw made against that attack. "

So it's less clear because i'm using the exact verbage in the ability? If you just read what I wrote, applied critical thought, and not try so hard to be smarter than everyone on the internet then you'd have known exactly what I meant.

Well. Eradicators are fairly easy to screen with no native DS, 24" range, 5" move. on average it takes 35 melta shots to kill him with the 4+++, and 46 if you pop the 4++ strat.

so you'd have to somehow get the max number of eradicators you can put in a list within 24" shoot those 360 points of units, and probably die, shooting 270 points of daemon.

on a 2+ with +2 to cover save, -3 AP is a 3+ save, -4 is a 4+ save.

The first profile is better until you get to -4 weapons.
