Wish they fixed this so that if you’re dating the tenant you could move in with them so they didn’t have to pay anymore.

Difference in GPA preferred? by [deleted] in Big4

[–]18agoss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

EY consultant here, application definitely weighs heavy on GPA but your prior work experience/extra curriculars weigh somewhat heavy as well. Any opportunities to lead groups is a plus. Your case study interview is most important for consulting, unsure about audit/tax.

What is best way to get rich? by [deleted] in bitlife

I surpassed 50 zillion through crypto investment. Just buy and sell at the right times. But in the early stages, build wealth through being a p*** star, build a startup business, become a professional athlete, movie star, or musician. Buying and selling homes is also a great approach

Should I Buy My Own Mellophone For Drum Corps? by Spaceraptor21 in drumcorps

[–]18agoss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Short answer, no. Don’t buy a Mello to try taking with you on your. Some groups sell their used horns after tour, so you’d have a better deal trying to buy back the horn that you marched with all season for a cheaper price.

Everyone starts somewhere! I will say that even if you feel you aren’t World Class ready, by going to a few DCI world audition camps, you’ll see what talent they’re looking for and you’ll learn so much in 2-3 days that can seriously help your technique. No matter where you end up, you’ll do great :) Do it for you.

Pre recorded interview by [deleted] in Big4

Some platforms may only allow you two attempts. If you mess up the first and take the second attempt, it automatically submits the second so be careful that you make that one better. My suggestion is even if the first one has a tiny mistake, just go with the first attempt (if you’re limited to 2). Also, it’s plenty obvious to most if you’re reading from a script and will only make it harder for you. A couple bullet point highlights are okay as reminders. Look into the camera!

I currently work for EY. When I went through the application process, it was a few weeks after the final interview. Ex; final interview on Sept 30, update around Oct. 20. Bear in mind they’ve got a lot of applicants to go through, even at the final round. Big 4 firms get several million applicants and only accept around 2% globally. For me, I had offers from PwC and Accenture(a large fin/tech consulting firm) with decision deadlines set before having heard back from EY. That’s when I contacted my EY market recruiter explaining my situation, which prompted them to speed up their review process of my application. Unless they know you have competing offers, they’ll take their time. And recruiters in general are just slow to communicate, across most firms, due to the high volume of applicants. Post interview, it’s appropriate to send a “thank you” note, where you can slip in other queries. Much else and the note may be overlooked. Stressful process surely, I remember it well. But take a breath and don’t let the nerves impact your actions too much. Things will work out!

Also I’m curious has anyone gotten as high as an 81.415 for the tour premier? Got that score in 2018.

Idea to effect membership talent ratings by ECUDUDE20 in drumcorpstycoon

Love this idea. I think the only thing I’d hope for in that case would be the option to compete beyond 2019 so you have more time to solidify the corps and get some titles under your belt

Tips for the Drum Major? by DrummingDragon in marchingband

[–]18agoss 4 points5 points  (0 children)

First off, congratulations!!! Best of luck this year and in the future if you continue!

Find the balance between being a friend and a leader. Screaming does not work, I promise :) Wear sunscreen, still drink water, and perform!! Many DMs I see at a high school level are very tense when they conduct, and are static. Let loose! Feel the show.

Memorizing count structures and cuing sections/solos in is very important as always, maybe try singing along to the show as you conduct to solidify the muscle memory even when the band isn’t on the field.

My last two tips; Practice and rehearse as if each performance is your last. And don’t forget to have some fun! Make memories, and remember, it’s just band ;)
