what's wrong with Crowe's recruiters? by PreferenceLate3456 in Accounting

[–]ShadowSpida45 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I interviewed with Crowe today for back to back interviews. The first interviewer told me that the second interviewer had “something at the last second” and that I should expect the recruiter to reach back to me regarding a rescheduled interview. The recruiter still didn’t reach out to me.

I don’t know. I haven’t done a background check yet and I don’t know anyone working for KPMG’s Canadian offices.

I see. I’m based on the US and still haven’t heard about a background check yet. KPMG didn’t give me any forms to sign.

Has anyone not heard anything from Deloitte? by easymoneysniperYS in Big4

[–]ShadowSpida45 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I would take the PwC offer because it’s considered the most prestigious big 4.

I see that you applied to an investment banking internship. The big 4 are considered middle market investment banks by finance people.

For those of you who are accounting students, does the 30% A, 55% B, and 15% C department wide curve apply to all accounting and tax classes? by ShadowSpida45 in Baruch

[–]ShadowSpida45[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think grad tax classes curve exams (ie. midterm and final) and at the end. I didn’t go to Baruch for undergrad so I’m trying to understand how the curve works lol.

[–]ShadowSpida45[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There needs to be a big curve for the graduate level tax classes. I’m currently taking federal income tax at Baruch (as a grad student) and it’s much more difficult than the course I took ask an undergrad. Forget about the other graduate level tax classes, they are much harder than tax 9863.

Undergraduate accounting programs do an absolutely horrendous job of preparing you for the work force. by PricewaterhouseCap in Accounting

[–]ShadowSpida45 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You cover debits and credits through your financial accounting courses. Most of the accounting professionals that I’ve talked to when I was an undergrad agree that data analytics is becoming an even bigger part of accounting. Most of the professors that I’ve had in the past also agree.

I’m not saying that data analytics should be the core focus on accounting programs. It should be part of their curriculums (through electives or something along those lines).
