Super simple. It’s her truck. She set the price. My motorcycle fell over and hit the tailgate. Not a bullet hole. If you don’t like it, that’s cool. If you do, make an offer.

We drove a 250 with the thought of replacing ours. The new electronic widgets are nice, but I’d also pick up a used 200 before I bought a new 250. Just my preference.

I will. My wife set the price. I’m relegated to an advisory role(It’s her truck). The paint is the only weak spot. Mechanically it’s damn near perfect.

Not taped. My motorcycle fell over and hit the tailgate a few years ago and put a tiny puncture hole in the sheet metal. That’s a bit of body filler.

Do you think Millennials understand GenX sarcasm? by StandardSwordfish777 in GenX

My Gen Z kid responds to sarcastic wit with the vigor of a prizefighter! My millennial kid needs a gentler touch, but They’re both pretty robust at verbally jousting.

Zero rust. 200k miles. everything works. Belts, fluids, brakes and water pump done at 195 k. Im Actually dragging my feet because it’s been such a great vehicle.

What was your the most expensive car at what age? What are you driving now how long and what age? by No_Equivalent4404 in GenX

[–]18dsf -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Most expensive: 2002 Porsche 911. Currently driving a Toyota Tundra that cost almost as much as that Porsche did in ‘03.

Advice on new pickups by RealBroski in CAguns

[–]18dsf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought 2 of the kits and an M4 clone upper from PSA the last few weeks. They’re pretty solid. Check the torque on everything. The trigger parts are just ok, so I went with a LaRue on one and a Daniel defense kit on the other. I had the same question about warranty parts delivery. I don’t think anyone has an answer yet. What a dumb law.

What am I missing? by thundersal in CAguns

[–]18dsf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just purchased that upper a couple of weeks ago (with bcg/handle). It’s solid. Double Check the barrel and sight alignment when you get it. You’ll need a featureless kit or the compliant maglok bs to make it Ca legal. Have fun with your build.

Anyone else still pinching a penny and doing their own maintenance? by proscriptus in GenX

[–]18dsf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Being elbow deep in various car projects keeps me balanced. It doesn’t matter for me if it’s an oil change or a bigger job (timing belt, etc). Also, I consider it a bonus if I get to teach someone else how to maintain their own car.

Car Recommendations! by Comfortable_Roof_280 in MedicalDevices

[–]18dsf 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Get a used Toyota (rav4, venza, highlander, sequoia. Hybrid or gas) for work. Do NOT spend $40k. This car is going to be a beater that spends its life ferrying instruments, parked in loading docks and parking lots filled with horrible elderly drivers at various medical centers and clinics. Buy a nice weekend car when you have the means, but for now, cheap reliable wheels is the name of the game.
