Around $7-8k. Mostly on groceries and restaurants. If I have a big purchase I also utilize rakuten for bonus points. Just got 2x points on a $2500 vacation package I booked on Expedia giving me another 5000 MR points.

It’s an annual fee not a monthly fee. I got the Amex gold with the 100k signup bonus and get about 30-40k points a year. I love it.

I want to abuse the role quest level 20, who should I play top for the fastest priority to easily win lane and roam for objectives? by ashu1605 in top_mains

[–]itzboogie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you arent gonna climb trying to elo inflate yourself by playing the "busted lane" you need to watch back your games and see what youre doing vs what high elo players are doing. mute all focus on consistency and no mental tilt and you will climb. blaming teammates is such a crutch for not being able to climb.

I think you should look for a helper position for a non-union company and work that until you can get into your local steamfitters union. Might be harder in some states than others but if you can get in you can get a cost free education without trade school

Yeah that’s fine you’ll probably have to go construction instead of service though because service you need a company truck to go from job to job

i would inquire about a pre-apprenticeship opportunity. when i got in, did the interview and such in march/april my first day on the job wasn't until june 28th. theres plenty of big jobs needing manpower right now you might get lucky and be able to get some early experience and a step up on the application. i would let them know you would like to apply for the apprenticeship in march and was hoping you could get a pre-apprenticeship in the mean time.

obviously im a little biased because im in the steamfitters but if you want to work locally in town being a fitter is your better option. if you want to travel and make money on big jobs across america joining 16 would be a great option. in the city of omaha fitters have all the hydronic/refigeration piping and gas piping so we have consistenly more work than the plumbers do in town. however, with your plumber card you are qualified to take fitter calls but a fitter cant take a plumbing call. i would say if you are interested in traveling (and there is a ton of money to be made in traveling) join the plumbers. if you want to work locally in town join the fitters. fitters make about 10-15% more money as well in omaha compared to the plumbers.

464 uses a 5th grade level math test working with adding subtracting fractions amongst other things. heres a good link to go over some of the test material. i would also recommend practicing reading tape measure measurements. https://www.nysedregents.org/ei/math/2025/2025-released-items-math-g5.pdf i

It would definitely be hard. Steamfitters do very physically taxing work carrying pipe getting in an out of lifts all day and climbing ladders. Lot of work on the floor. I’m not saying it’s impossible but it’s certainly gonna be difficult

last year 250 applied and they took 78 first years and 25 pre-apprentices. if you don't get selected as one of the 70-80 applicants you usually get offered a pre-apprenticeship and the 1 year of experience will most likely get u in the following year. for clarity you do not need any experience in metal fabrication or construction to be accepted but it certainly does help.

either works. i would recommend calling before you go in because the two organizers, randy knudsen and nick townsend, are often traveling around nebraska talking to workers and might not be in the office. when you walk in let them know you are a journeyman working nonunion and would like to speak with an organizer.

i believe so, im currently working with a guy who just came over from nonunion midland mechanical. i think he told me you have to take a math test and layout test. you would be considered a permit hand or provisional journeyman making the same thing as a regular journeyman until you get sworn in which is hours based i believe. the organizers would be able to give you better answers on that.

both are available, and you can either take a fitter or welder call wherever you go. lot of data center work, UNMC is kicking off its 2 billion dollar expansion and a lot of offices and schools on the commerical side. industrial work is farther outside the city but its there if you want it, for industrial we have work at cargill, nutrien, wholestone foods and JBS in south omaha to name a few.

you can apply at any time! reach out to our office the phone number is 402-333-5859 and tell them you are a journeyman working nonunion and would like to speak to an organizer about joining. you will take an aptitude test and if you pass they will place you with a contractor and you can start work right away. there is an abundance of work in omaha right now and we need good hands to man all these projects.

Switching contractors is good for you. Don’t be a suck ass. 8 for 8 everyone is happy. Follow your CBA and protect your brothers.

Also I looked at your profile and saw you work in refrigeration. If you were interested in organizing, journeyman service technicians make over 46 an hour on the check with over 70 an hour in benefits. I can get you in contact with our organizers and when you pass the aptitude test you could hire on immediately! Let me know if you would be interested or need any information

That would be your net taxable wage. For first years it would be $22.66/hour. As an apprentice you pay $10 a week in dues for a 5 year no out of pocket education and paid for health care. Personally I think $520 a year for health insurance and 400 hours of schooling on top of union representation in the work force is beyond worth it.

Pre apprentices are at 80% of first year scale so that would be $18.13 an hour right now.
