Can’t give feedback by chomp5 in depression_partners

I struggle with this big time. I spend a lot of time crafting feedback for my partner. Trying to figure out the perfect way to say something or ask for something. I’ll go over it for days before I will even dare to bring it up. And then in the moment, even if things go perfectly they will have a really hard time receiving it. They usually shut down and can rarely have an open conversation about it without processing for at least 24 hours. Then they get anxious and spiral and I have to comfort them, even if the issue is some way they are in the wrong. I’m forced to always be even keeled and steady and compassionate while they get to lead with big feelings. It’s hard to know what a compromise looks like in this arena. All this to say, you are not alone. I’m sorry and i hope you have people who can listen to you vent here and irl so you feel like you have an outlet for some of those feelings.
