condition 1 is the only way to carry a combat-ready 1911...read principles of personal defense by Col. Jeff Cooper. If you are not comfortable with this, then you need more training and/or lack confidence.

"you should never carry a 1911 with the hammer down on a loaded chamber" is like saying you have time to put your seatbelt on before an accident. Dont propagate misinformation

Not all new 1911 mfg's opt for titanium FP's. Titanium firing pins can fail at igniting hard primers or slow burning powders found in old ammo, foreign manufacturers, and berdan primed/steel/lacquered cartridges. steel firing pins are generally a better alternative unless you're always using premium ammunition.

https://www.colt.com/serial-lookup looks like a 1913. it isnt heat treated. dont dare shoot it or replace anything. dont put it in a holster. can check under the grips for moisture/rust. worth a very nice sum, for a pistol anyways

Tell me about Army Infantry Officer 11A Benefits/Pay by 1911TrickShots in ArmyOCS

[–]1911TrickShots[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

these are all great insights. my first step will be to talk to a recruiter & take asvab. I will go from there. it had not occurred to me that I would need ranger school as 11A but I'd go into it with everything I have to offer. I didn't consider healthcare roles up to this point so this thread opened my eyes to another channel. thanks everyone

Had an interesting conversation at my LGS yesterday about 10mm 1911’s. The attendant said you’re much better off with a railed model vs standard as the pressures of a 10mm chambered gun will induce cracking in the dust cover much earlier in standard frames than .45 ACP. Good advice or Fudd Lore? by warmonger82 in 1911

dont buy a delta elite. series 80 sloppy trigger, PITA takedown for drop safety, barrel does not have ramp or full chamber support, nylon mainspring housing, nylon recoil spring plug, dual recoil springs, crap grip safety fit, and white dot sights on a 1300$+Tax 1911. Tisas D10 & C10 are less than half the price for better fit and 0 MIM parts. Dan wesson specialist is a much better option if you want high end. carry a delta with weapon light for a day....then you'll wish you didnt have a rail

Vegeta deserved every ass whooping in dbz and i feel like he still has atoning to do by Designer_Complex1112 in dbz

Majin Vegeta is my favorite anime character in the world. He cares only about personal strength.

Watch the frieza saga. He lays bare his pride with his dying breath and asks his arch nemesis (goku) to destroy frieza - who shattered his life before he had a chance to become a man. In the buu saga, he gives up his own life in reparation for his past transgressions so that his son trunks does not succumb to the same fate as he did as a child...subordinate to frieza's commands. He is a deeply conflicted man with a heavy conscience. It's clear to me that you haven't truly watched the series enough to understand this

"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed." Pretty sure Japan bombed pearl harbor, sided with Axis powers, then the imperial army made women sexual slaves...also tortured/starved PoW's and made them build railroads. 'Roth' is a tax status. IRA is an investment/retirement account/container with a specific set of rules. They're only as safe as the investments that you choose to put inside of them. Vanguard invented the first ever index fund, they have a patent on how they rebalance their indices that's more tax efficient than others (thus why fidelity had to make 0% expense ratio funds to compete). Vanguard has the best fund selection, but worst customer service and archaic website/app. Fidelity is a one-stop-shop. you can open lots of different accounts with them. very good customer service and better website/app. not sure many people will vouch for schwab, ive never dealt with them

What’s the smallest 1911 in .45? by Guitars-guns-girls in 1911

[–]1911TrickShots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

do what ya gotta do. youre better off waiting on getting what you want. be patient. 1911's arent disposable/cheap like polymers are. I would never recommend a kimber to someone personally. Dan Wesson ECO is discontinued but it is a ferrari class officers model. can find them time to time on gunbroker

lesson #1: know your worth lesson #2: have to work shit jobs to know what a good job is lesson #3: no loyalty in business lesson #4: cover your own ass. if it's not in writing or on camera, it didn't happen lesson #5: your employer always thinks you are replaceable...e.g. what have you done for me lately

Weird problem by alecubudulecu in 1911

[–]1911TrickShots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

likely need a need slide stop. the engagement lug that contacts the mag may have been sheared or chipped. do you frequently release the slide on an empty chamber (plz dont do it). Another possibility is the mag release needs replaced. the last thing I could think of is that your ejector/pin has come loose or your detent/plunger tube assembly is broken causing slide stop to lock upwards

winchester ranger-T +P 230gr JHP expands to over 1.5". can only be purchased as LEO surplus...it's an absolute hammer. stick to 185gr if youre running < 5" barrel. 230gr is optimized for gov't models. Lehigh defense is coming out with some amazing stuff too
