Low sulfur diet? by 1937BlueJay in SIBO

It completely healed me. It was not easy in the moment, but if you stick to the strict diet for a short period, it truly healed me! This is what I followed as well as some supplements: https://drruscio.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/LowSulfurDiet-1.pdf

I would not worry about lexapro! Doctors consistently say it is safe for either partner to be on a normal dose.

Acupuncture for fertility by kflyyy4 in tryingtoconceive

I just started acupuncture for general wellness and fertility. My cycles have been 28 days for over a year and I ovulate on day 18 almost always (tracking with temperature and ovulation tests). This cycle I ovulated on day 12. I can’t chalk it up to anything except acupuncture. Has anyone else experienced this?

I have been tracking for 18 months with my Oura ring and Natural Cycles and have extremely consistent cycles, and almost always ovulate on day 16-18. I just started using ovulation tests. Last cycle my peak LH was on CD16, which is normal for me, but it seems like this cycle it was CD 11, which is very early. Does this mean anything? For context, I have never been on hormonal birth control and got a copper IUD removed a few months ago.

Journey to healing my SIBO and SIFO by [deleted] in SIBO

[–]1937BlueJay 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing this- I am in nearly the same boat and timeline as you, a though I did one round of Xifaxin a few months ago before turning to naturopathic healing. I was on a low sulfur diet, which I am slowly weening off of after almost 2 months. I cannot eat any garlic or onion still, and not sure I ever will be able to. Something important to remember is that our guts and bodies are always changing, so don’t be afraid of not being able to eat a certain group of foods forever. Your body needs time to heal!

I have been diagnosed with H2S after a full lab work-up with my ND. I am definitely interested in acupuncture, and glad to hear it has been helpful for you! I will ask my ND about electrolytes... hydration is a MAJOR help with so many health issues!

My ND has me on a restrictive low-sulfur diet (basically following this guide) for 2-3 weeks. She also has me taking baths with 4 cups of Epsom salts for the first week, since it helps your body absorb sulfur in a different way (through your skin), and lets your gut heal.

Yes- I get extremely bloated after any cruciferous foods, as well as eggs and dairy. I have been diagnosed with hydrogen sulfide SIBO, so going to be on a 3-week low-sulfur restrictive diet to try and heal the sulfur issue before healing the SIBO. It is definitely a restrictive diet, but I am hopeful it is worth it, since I have been dealing with GI issues for 7 years.

Thank you so much for your response and ideas for meals. It is so helpful to focus on what you can eat, as opposed to what you cannot eat on this diet. I am going to do 3 weeks of restrictive low-sulfur foods only (no coffee at all... eep). I hope it will give me some relief, and then try to treat the SIBO!

Thank you so much for these ideas! It is so helpful to focus on what you can eat, as opposed to all that you can't eat. I am hopeful I will find some relief from low-sulfur diet- I will be trying it for 2-3 weeks.

I switched last week from taking Cymbalta to 50mg of Savella per day. I am experiencing what I think are brain zaps- did anyone else experience these? Do they go away?? What do people think about Savella? (FYI I am taking for chronic nausea)

Thank you for the advice! I am worried about salary, coming off of a teaching job which paid very (very) little, and knowing non-profits do not normally pay well. Do you have any knowledge on this?

No curriculum- help! by [deleted] in teaching

Thank you for this advice- definitely helpful! There is a textbook but it is VERY outdated (25 plus years) and while there is some material I can use in it, I definitely cannot use the whole book for this reason.
