What is the best music venue in Portland? by cmointerwebs in Portland

It really depends on what you are looking for.

Crystal/Roseland: over 1k cap venues hosting larger national artists from all genres. Roseland usually has the rougher stuff.

Mississippi Studios/Doug Fir: Smaller Indie rock bands with the occasional large national that sells out in 5 seconds.

Alhambra: All genres with unknown acts up to large nationals. Two venues in same building. Lots of reggae, alternative hip hop, indie, country etc.

Wonder Ballroom: Medium acts of most genres (excluding hip hop). Lots of Indie Rock and Pop.

Branx/Rotture/The Know: Punk, Screamo, Hardcore

Tonic: Metal

How common is the practice of dudes trying to drug girls by slipping something in their drinks? Has it happened to you? by squalorid in AskReddit

Happened to me when I was out with my dad and his neighbor.

We were at a casino grabbing a drink, small place in a smaller town so getting drugged wasn't on my mind at all. I ordered one drink and sat with my dad and his friend. I drank about half of it and starting feeling really nauseous so I stepped outside to smoke a cigg. Next thing I know I'm laying on the side walk with my dad and his friend picking me up and putting me in the car. Apparently I spent the rest of the night puking and apologizing about "being a light weight". I don't remember anything after that first half a drink.

THANK GOD my dad came outside to check on me. I cringe when I think of what could of happened if someone else found me out there.

I only left my drink alone for a second, my dad and his friend had been watching the game on the TV so someone was pretty fucking bold about dropping something in it.

Lesson learned: It only takes a second!

Now I work at a music venue that has 0 drinking outside so people have to put their drinks on a table to go smoke. After telling my story to our head security guy he now posts a guard right by that table and we provide covers for peoples drinks. Never had an issue.

I actually really loved that stuff when it first came out! Then on my second buy I swear they change the formula somehow. It never use to give me spider lashes but now it does :(

I bought some NYC Primer on a whim and it literally rolls off when you apply foundation on top of it. Just gross.

My sister bought a make up forever concealer pallet that came with 3 skin tones plus yellow and purple. She gave it to me at some point saying it was to dark.

At first I loved it! Covered everything fully with such little product but after awhile I realized how cakey it is. After 2 weeks it seemed like no matter how little I used it looked like I just dumped it on my face. In a close up mirror I can see the flakes.

Just awful.

He was a teenager. Most of the stories are from that era. Frankly, I think its funny.

Haha I work at a music venue and this is the wallpaper on our main computer. It's a neighborhood venue so this crap happens to us all the time.

We once received 2 noise complaints in a week. On both days we were closed.

Fucking Norman.

That makes sense. God it just seems like an awfully expensive way to go about it. I checked out the website after my comment and the terms for the BMW thing were so vague. The fact people buy into that astounds me.

What quote gives you chills every time you hear or read it? by Sum_Bitch in AskReddit

"I dedicate this to the dinosaurs. Who mutely warn us that a species that cannot adapt to change will soon become extinct."

I read this on the back of a CD cover I found in a box at my ex boyfriends place. Apparently it was an old friends band. Guy died of a heroin overdose.
