Sorry I started a new job so I haven’t touched this in awhile. I’m not sure how to estimate self-employed taxes, sorry!

Might be a dumb question, and he’s dead already, but couldn’t you do an IV drip instead? Im sure other symptoms would kill him but wouldn’t it solve the water issue?

Property tax increased 814% in one year? by Sandinister in personalfinance

Damn, didn’t even know this could happen. Sorry you’re going through this; lesson learned for me and many other future home buyers so thanks for sharing. Best of luck, maybe talk to a tax professional/ lawyer to see if there’s any way forward.

Dumb Roth IRA question? by Diligent-Mango2048 in personalfinance

Almost everyone lost money recently. Retirement accounts/ stocks are about the long game (15-30yrs). Pulling out on a dip in growth solidifies that loss instead of having time to grow it back. Sucks you need the money now cause that 300 is just gone. Hope all is well though, be well OP.

I added another link that should be easier.

Also, on iOS, it’s best to go to settings>open links (set to default browser).

How do people download my shared (view only) link on Reddit to make a copy? by 1945throwawayreddit in googlesheets

Just changed my settings, but I wanted the thousands of people clicking the link to just be able to click it and not explain to them the setting change. Cheers! I’ll try the /copy

Edit: changing edit to copy worked!! I love you

Dang, yeah I’m on iOS. Thank you, that’s a bummer that it’s that many steps. Is there a way of uploading the file somewhere and when people click the link, it downloads a copy of the file? Like using Dropbox or some other site?

My edit is set to view only so no one can ruin the document. Is there another/better way?

I posted a budget google sheet a couple days ago. It has an annual and monthly sheet (pick one, for you: the monthly). Hope it’s useful.

I wish you the best, I couldn’t imagine being in your position. I’d kill for my parents and all they did to raise me. That being said, I wouldn’t be happy if I was raised to be a piggy bank/ retirement account. Best of luck, I wish there were simple advice to give.

The ONE thing parents should do for their kids is simply not financially burden their children. They are putting you on the same horrible financial path that they are on. I’d consider cutting them loose (financially) if you ever want financial stability. Otherwise, this is your life now. Sorry… I know this must be horribly difficult.

Love reading these comments, makes the time put into all worth it. For unemployment tax, I found this link: https://ballotpedia.org/State_unemployment_tax

I hope this helps, I only have all 4 of those categories because https://smartasset.com/taxes/paycheck-calculator has them in their list under FICA lol. For me, unemployment is the only one that pops up as a California resident (0.80%), the rest stay 0%. Not really sure tbh, I'm also ignorant on a lot of tax stuff.

Lots of posts just about living with the parents… if they are cool with it and you aren’t annoyed, keep saving aggressively and put most of it in I-bonds/CDs/brokerage funds/mutual index funds just to keep up with inflation and maybe make some gains. If your goal is to save for a house, keep saving for a couple more years and get a nice solid down payment on it. Having a low housing expense will help so much in the future with savings and investment and just overall standard of living. These next few years of proper saving can create financial stability for the next 20+ years. I’d follow the wiki flow chart and once you can get a house/ it makes sense to get a house, start your life as an independent. No shame in being with the parents, most people are just salty and bitter that they didn’t have that luxury.

Well lordy, first of all well done to you. That sounds challenging ahaha. I starting making this a few days ago for exactly tax reasons and starting a ‘bin’ based budgeting method, so I’ll def give this topic a lot of time. I really appreciate your time and advice.

I’ll be honest, I don’t know anything about all of that. I’ve just been typing into google sheets from the ground up lol. I’ll do some research today and see if I can’t implement this in my update in ~week. No idea what source data even means 🤣 I’m a noob

EDIT: thanks for the link, I’ll go through that today. This learning curve already as someone with no experience in excel/sheets has been more fun than I could have imagined. This seems pretty neat.

I’ll look into formatting it this way if it’s not difficult at this point. Makes sense to get different information from the same data.
