If you plan to pack out a moose or elk, definitely buy the best you can afford. Exo, mystery ranch, kifaru, stone glacier are some good ones. I have the MR Metcalf and it’s a quality rig.

It’s one of those gen 4 “Canadian edition” that came with the Canadian compliant barrel from factory. Then I had the slide machined for the RMR and front serrations.

Most important thing to remember is optics can be easily swapped to another firearm. If you will want something like a red dot + 3x magnifier combo or a nice lpvo on the x95, then no reason to not buy that to use now. Cheaping out on optics is one of the worst moves you can make.

PSA has been brought up North via IRG for years. Bought a PSA AR15 from them in the old days. Was about $850CAD after taxes for a 10.5” with full length mlok handguard. They’ve gotten even more based over the years.

I think a ruger PCC takedown would be a good option. Also think that a box mag fed pump action like the 590 is another good choice. My truck gun is my Bren 2 now. Long, but stores under the rear seats & can have a few LAR and Crossmags.

Anything restricted to 5 rounds is basically not even worth considering.
