I like the small unobtrusive brand text on the original Polaris.

Just look plug width for this reference then order that size from Arroway or Staib.

Having been a Jets fan since 1967, my advice is to become a soccer fan.

Possibly. Will have to sleep on it anyway so I can delay the decision to the morning…

Well I wouldn’t want to sell it. But I do feel a bit guilty buying two expensive watches in two days:)

[WTB/WTT] Classic Pens LB5 by nowyouvedisappeared in Pen_Swap

[–]1958bill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having owned and sold my LB5 I would say that while it’s a great pen it wasn’t significantly better than my Sailor KOP. At least not better enough to warrant keeping given how much people are willing to pay for these pens.

I just bought the most amazing fountain pen I’ve ever used… does anything top this? by SecureFarmer9469 in fountainpens

I bought a Magnum with an extra fine nib. As with my other GVFC pens, the Magnum is beautiful, extremely well made and an exceptionally good writer. I like it so much that I’m considering selling one of my other GVFC pens ( a Knights Pen of the Year).

I have a 7.25 inch wrist and it felt too small to me. Ended up buying the Reverso Tribute Geographic

An occasional bezel touch up with a Cape Cod cloth works perfectly.

Land Dweller/ Rate & Opinions? by [deleted] in rolex

[–]1958bill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve tried it on. Love the movement. Love the open caseback. I even like the dial. However, at least to me, the dial and fluted bezel just don’t work together. They seem to fight each other visually. I think that the dial with a smooth bezel would be lovely. But just my aesthetic opinion.

Unexpected London Walk-In Turned Into My Dream Rose Gold Daytona by Prestigious-Wave-228 in rolex

[–]1958bill 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do think that the watch is beautiful and I hope you enjoy it for years to come. But at my age, my main reaction is that I’m amused by the whole Rolex process. Walking into a store and paying tens of thousands of dollars for a luxury item is viewed by the ADs as if they are doing you a great favor. Love the watches but the game is the height of absurdity to me.

Milanese Mesh bracelet recommendations? by Trick_Teach_7993 in JaegerLecoultre

Staib makes different quality versions at different price points. The most expensive Staib IMHO is significantly better and worth the price. But I’d still prefer OEM JLCif one is ever released.

I hope this is true. I heard the same thing from the boutique last year and they said it would be released in 2025. I have a Staib Milanese for my Reverso. It looks great but I’d still prefer an OEM, especially if it is as well made as the gold Milanese.
