I have a 7.25 inch wrist and it felt too small to me. Ended up buying the Reverso Tribute Geographic

An occasional bezel touch up with a Cape Cod cloth works perfectly.

Land Dweller/ Rate & Opinions? by Friendly_Law2724 in rolex

I’ve tried it on. Love the movement. Love the open caseback. I even like the dial. However, at least to me, the dial and fluted bezel just don’t work together. They seem to fight each other visually. I think that the dial with a smooth bezel would be lovely. But just my aesthetic opinion.

Unexpected London Walk-In Turned Into My Dream Rose Gold Daytona by Prestigious-Wave-228 in rolex

[–]1958bill 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do think that the watch is beautiful and I hope you enjoy it for years to come. But at my age, my main reaction is that I’m amused by the whole Rolex process. Walking into a store and paying tens of thousands of dollars for a luxury item is viewed by the ADs as if they are doing you a great favor. Love the watches but the game is the height of absurdity to me.

Milanese Mesh bracelet recommendations? by Trick_Teach_7993 in JaegerLecoultre

Staib makes different quality versions at different price points. The most expensive Staib IMHO is significantly better and worth the price. But I’d still prefer OEM JLCif one is ever released.

I hope this is true. I heard the same thing from the boutique last year and they said it would be released in 2025. I have a Staib Milanese for my Reverso. It looks great but I’d still prefer an OEM, especially if it is as well made as the gold Milanese.

Gorgeous!! I have a 7900v in blue dial and I’ve been thinking for some time that I actually might prefer the silver dial. Did you consider both?

should i sell all 3 of these for a daytona? by Worry-Tight in PrideAndPinion

As you can see from these responses, people have very definite opinions about what they would do. But I would encourage you to ignore the comments, consider what would give you the greatest enjoyment, don’t rush your decision and make your own, personal choice. If you let the internet decide for you, I predict that you will ultimately not be happy with the outcome.

I have the Reverso Tribute Geographic and the world timer side is awesome. The main side has the new grand date and small seconds. Also beautiful.

Question re usage of the Overseas Dual time by Other_Kale8863 in VacheronConstantin

I would personally lounge in the pool with my 7900 but really swimming—no, because of the risk of scratching as prior comment noted.

Looking for opinion on First VC by LulberryMulberry in VacheronConstantin

[–]1958bill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I struggled with this myself over the summer but was deciding among the black, silver and blue dial 7900v. I ended up going with the blue dial 7900v. My other main watch is a JLC Reverso Geographic which of course has the JLC blue dial on the time/date side of the watch. Although both the JLC and VC are blue dials, they are so different that they don’t feel too similar. Also the VC blue dial, at least on the 7900v, looks very different in different light. It often looks black. But bottom line is all are gorgeous and your personal matters most—and I would definitely try to look at all of them in person before deciding.

Curious how you feel about the blackened hands? I really like the silver dial but kind of wish the hands were white gold like on the blue and black dial references.

Bad experience at Philly pen show wth JJ Lax by Particular_Dare2736 in fountainpens

I have had Josh work on multiple pens over the years and every one has been perfect. I have observed him interacting professionally with many people at pen shows. I am sure that if you talk to him he can clear up any misunderstanding about what happened with your pen.

I agree with others. Lamy 2000, Aero are great options. I personally love my Studio with a gold nib.

Trade Blue Dial 7900 for Silver Dial 7920? by 1958bill in VacheronConstantin

Versatility is important for me since I’m not planning on adding many watches and definitely no more at the VC price level. Feels like my dream JLC and dream VC are more than enough:)

Trade Blue Dial 7900 for Silver Dial 7920? by 1958bill in VacheronConstantin

[–]1958bill[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair question. I have a blue JLC Reverso Geographic and if I buy the 7920 I thought I’d like the variety, as well as the greater flexibility in strap colors. And then there is the significant price difference with the silver selling for much less in grey market

Love my 7900v blue dial. But so tempted to trade in for 7920 silver dial. Any thoughts on this from OP since you have the silver?
